OUR MISSION IS SIMPLE: Improving the quality of life for people as they age
Founded in 1973, Senior Services for South Sound has been dedicated to supporting seniors in our community for over 50 years.
Our programs and services include Brighter Days Adult Day Program, Meals on Wheels, Senior Community Dining, Senior Transportation, Care Connection Caregiver Registry, Supportive Services, Health and Wellness Programs, Trips & Tours Program, Adult Learning, and Independent Living Programs.
The largest program we offer is our Senior Nutrition Program, provided in both Mason and Thurston counties. This program alone provides more than 130,000 meals each year to 3,000 individual seniors.
We are proud to provide dozens of activities at the Virgil Clarkson Lacey Senior Center and the Olympia Senior Center.

Local partners are businesses and organizations that support us at the highest level. Rather than sponsoring individual events, they choose to support our organization as a whole.
As a local partner you will:
• Have your logo in the footer of every page on our website. In 2023, our website received over 230,000 total page views. Visit southsoundseniors.org to see examples of Local Partner logo placement.
• Have your logo on all printed and digital materials we send during the year. This includes monthly newsletters (emailed to more than 8,000 people and printed for distribution in our Olympia and Lacey senior centers); our printed quarterly newsletter (this year, being mailed to 20,000 people in Thurston and Mason Counties); prominent logo placement with clickthrough on all fundraising web pages and social media posts; recognition with logo in our annual report.
• Have opportunities to appear in testimonial videos hosted on our website and distributed through social media
Local Partner Highlight: Hanson Subaru
For many years, Hanson Subaru has had an ongoing relationship with Senior Services, donating valuable time and resources to our Senior Nutrition Program. As the single largest non-federal supporter of our Meals on Wheels program, Hanson Subaru was vital in helping us meet the increased demand during the pandemic for Meals on Wheels in Thurston and Mason Counties.
Hanson Subaru has worked closely with us on our annual Blizzard Bags food drive for homebound seniors. Through Subaru’s Share the Love initiative, our Meals on Wheels program has benefited tremendously from financial support and increased exposure. We are truly pleased to be able to partner with Hanson Subaru to support our mission.

We’re going Over The Edge!
On June 29, 2024, 60 or more participants will be rappelling down a building at The Hub at Lacey to raise vital funds for Senior Services for South Sound. Each participant will be raising at least $1,000 from their social networks to benefit our organization.
From noon to 5 pm on that day, we’ll be holding a community-wide ground party at the base of the building. With live music, food and drink, and a celebratory atmosphere, the party promises to attract a large crowd to witness a fundraising event unlike any other in our area!
We have partnered with Over The Edge, an urban rappelling company with a 20-year history that has raised over $100 million for nonprofits just like ours. This fundraiser will be the first of its kind in Thurston County. We expect a large crowd and a lot of media attention.
