November 2006 Dear Prayer Partners, It’s the last day of November and we haven’t sent our November prayer letter yet. It’s been such a busy month for us. It started with us in Minnesota, finishing a two week long set of missions festivals at Grace and Wooddale churches in Eden Prairie. In the middle, we celebrated Brenda’s birthday and then she traveled to Omaha, NE for Lindamood~Bell training to equip herself to better teach Ian…and probably Connor and Lily too. We finished the month with our commissioning ceremony at Berean Baptist Church in Burnsville. The whole time, Michael did his best to work on support discovery and maintain his grade for the class he is taking. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers through all of this. We are so blessed to have such a great team of people praying for us. Praise God! Praise! • Brenda’s learning in Omaha went very well. She felt encouraged that she can be an excellent teacher for Ian and the others! •
We had a wonderful commissioning ceremony at Berean. Pastor Scott Countryman gave a great message and encouraged us to stay connected to our source…like a light bulb in the socket. Pastor Roger Thompson’s charge to the congregation really encouraged us. We were touched by how many people were in attendance and by how many came forward to pray for us.
We have pledges for 76% of our monthly support and have received 83% of our outgoing support. That is considering a new increased support requirement. We would be at 81% had we not had the change.
Petition! • Our financial requirements for departure increased last month due to our delay. Please pray that we would not be discouraged by that, but rather thankful to be with an agency who is concerned about our welfare on the field. •
Please pray that our remaining financial support will come in quickly. We continue to be amazed at how God is providing. Ask him to provide in a way that nobody would doubt that it is from him.
We’ve had some struggles lately with the kids and our preparations for Croatia. They are tired of being unsure when we will leave. Sometimes they express, “I just want to be in Croatia,” and at other times, “I never wanted to go!” Pray that God would give them peace with his plans for our lives, especially while we wait.
Ask God to provide a teacher for our kids to go with us to Croatia for our first two years of language school. It will be too difficult to home school them while we are learning Croatian and there are no English speaking schools that are available to us.
We, like you, are heading into the cold and flu season. We’ve already had some low fevers and runny noses. We all need our health to accomplish the tasks that have been set before us. You do not have, because you do not ask God. James 4:2b
