July 2006 Dear Prayer Partners, We are just finishing our three weeks of SEND’s Member Orientation Program (MOP) in Michigan and next will be spending two weeks in Colorado attending a program where we will learn how to learn a second language. We have made some wonderful new friends here and consider ourselves blessed to be able to serve with some of them in the South Central Europe region of SEND. Thank you for all of your prayers. It is very encouraging to know that we have so many people dedicated to lifting us to the Lord regularly. Praise! • New Covenant Bible Church, the church of Michael’s youth in Iowa, has decided to partner with us! •
The Twin Cities Consortium of Missions Support Churches has voted to take us on as their supported missionary for this year. We can now take the next steps toward partnership with the individual churches of the consortium.
With help from family, we were able to dispose of the possessions that we are not taking with us to Croatia and get moved out of our apartment. We are now homeless and unemployed.
We are in our third week of the MOP here at SEND in Michigan. We are learning about the SEND ethos and just how hard it is going to be to function as missionaries in a new culture.
Petition! • Our target departure date of mid-September is looking less likely. We currently have 63% of our monthly support need pledged and about 50% of our outgoing support need received. Please pray that as we enter into this phase of full-time support discovery, we will make contacts with the right people and churches to finalize our support. •
We have many, many more miles to drive in July and August. Please ask our Lord to make those safe and enjoyable miles.
We have meetings scheduled with the missions pastors at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie and Grace Church in Roseville. Please pray that those would go well.
Each child is having their own struggle with adjusting to being on the road and not having a home to call their own. “I’m sick of change,” is how one put it. We would be grateful if you would ask the Lord to comfort them through these and the greater transitions that are ahead.
The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it. 1 Thessalonians. 5:24
