[PRO]MEMORIA MASTER THESIS

year place

2009 Fratta Todina, Italy

This is an enhancement project for the sport facilities of Fratta Todina, a little city in the center of Italy. Memory and property are the keys of the entire project: ‘memory’ is mainly referred to relationships with the context, and ‘property’ is referred to relationships with the land. These are the guidelines for the ground modeling, which is the result of ground’s slices movement upward or downward.

RISORGIMENTO SQUARE FOUNTAIN year place collaboration

2013 Avezzano, Italy Ilaria Andres, Marco Marchionni, Cinzia Polesini

This is the project presented to the design competition for the renovation of the main square fountain and the neighbouring areas in Avezzano. The fountain becomes the symbol of the ancient lake Fucino, dried out by the Prince Torlonia in 1878: in memory of its three inflows there are three vertical elements that supply water to the fountain. In the neighbouring areas the existing flowerbeds are redesigned in order to break the rigid street front that currently makes the square very closed.
