Phoebe Bintoro (Gr. 11)
Best Speakers from National Schools Debating Championship (NSDC) Congratulations to two of our Grade 11 students, Gracelyn Sukandi and Phoebe Bintoro, for earning the Best Speaker award from NSDC!
In each round, participants are given a motion and only given 30 minutes to build a solid case as a team without searching on the internet. After that, each speaker will deliver a 7 min 20-sec speech about their case to persuade the judges.
Gracelyn and Phoebe also teamed up with a student from another school to represent the Banten province on the national stage.
"We debated about economics, politics, social, and cultural motions which required a lot of prior knowledge to begin with," Phoebe said.
Before they reached the national round, they competed against 2,000 participants from across the country, which was narrowed down to 105. In the national round, their team reached the octo-final round.
We are proud of what Gracelyn and Phoebe have achieved!
