About TANA Conventions Telugu Association of North America (TANA) was founded in 1977 and incorporated as a nonprofit by 1978. TANA is one of the oldest and largest Indo-American organizations, boasting over 32,000 members across the Northern America. Consistent with its charter, TANA is an organization formed to perpetuate, integrate, and assimilate the cultural heritage of the Telugu people into the mainstream of the cultural heritage of North America. TANA holds a biennial national “North America Telugu Conference” as well as the “TANA Youth Conference.” TANA has added 17 successfully conducted conventions in its jewel, by conducting the conferences in various cities across USA. The conference is attended by members and families from all over USA and Canada. Some of the past conferences of TANA were: 15th Convention, July 2005 – Detroit, Michigan 16th Convention, July 2007 – Washington DC 17th Convention, July 2009 – Rosemont Convention Center, Chicago, IL Traditionally TANA conventions are held on the weekends of July 4th. This gives a unique and exciting vacation opportunity for all medical, engineering and business professional families to meet with friends and relatives. The Telugu people across USA consider this as a bi-annual festival gathering of their culture.
