Ship Inspection Report: The Norwegian Jewel sailing out of NYC In late August, my husband and fellow travel consultant, David, had the opportunity to do a ship inspection on the Norwegian Jewel which is currently sailing out of New York City all year round! We boarded the ship Imagine the culture the kids will experience and the fun they will have on a Mediterranean Cruise with Nickelodeon!

at 11am with the other passengers who were embarking on their 7 day trip to Florida and the Caribbean with ports of call at Port Canaveral (think Disney and Universal Studios excursions at this port of call!), Great Stirrup Cay (Norwegian’s private island) and Nassau with a few relaxing days at sea. We left our home in New Cumberland at 6 am and easily drove to the Manhattan Pier by 9:45...you could take either the Holland Tunnel which we took or the Lincoln Tunnel to get to the Manhattan Pier. We parked in a secure parking right at the port and it was not overly expensive! SO EASY! We loved eliminating the flight component to cruise and the easy drive make us highly recommend these homeport sailings!!! You will not be bored on the days at sea on this itinerary either. There is lots to do on

board as we were able to experience during our ship inspection. The ship had many activities, including a main pool with slides and lots of entertainment surrounding it. There was tennis, basketball, giant checkers, ping pong, shuffleboard, running track and onboard gym. Want to really relax? Check out Norwegian’s spa facilities! We also loved the Freestyle Concept that Norwegian touts. Freestyle cruising allows you to eat when you like and with whom you like. It was great getting a table for two in the dining room for lunch while we were on board. It also gives you lots of flexibility to go to specialty restaurants onboard like Cagney’s Steakhouse. Our lunch was terrific by the way! Very gourmet! Friendly and attentive wait staff!

Have kids and teens? Lots for them to do in the Teen and Kids Clubs as well as around the pool . However, twice in 2011 kids will be treated to two Nickelodeon All Access cruises — Presidents Day Weekend (sailing 2/20/11 for 7 days) to Florida and the Bahamas from NYC on board the Norwegian Jewel and on July 24, 2011 onboard the Norwegian Epic (the massive new ship that made its 2010 debut) for a Mediterranean sailing 7 days round trip from Barcelona. This itinerary includes the following ports of call: Livorno (access to Pisa & Florence, Italy), Civitavecchia (access to Rome, Italy), Naples, and Palma. Imagine the culture the kids will experience and the fun they will have on a Mediterranean cruise with opportunities to be slimed, sail with Sponge Bob and other Nick characters, experience a Sponge Bob live stage show onboard and much more! Now this would be a “cool” vacation for parents and children!!! I have cabins reserved on these sailings...the President’s Day sailing is booking fast. Call today to reserve your spot!!!!

Volume 1, Issue 5 Seize the Day Travel’s Disney Corner by Fred Wagenmann Christmas at Disney Gather your loved ones and celebrate the season with the yuletide festivities at Walt Disney World Resort. It's an especially enchanting time of the year! So whether you marvel at a fireworks extravaganza or sit back and let your spirit be revived by the story that started it all, this holiday is sure to be more than memorable. There are many reasons to visit Walt Disney World during the holidays – or any time of the year for that matter! But we’ll stick to the holiday season. There are parties, parades and processionals throughout Disney. It's the most wonderful time of the year at Disney World. By adding an overlay of Christmas and holiday cheer, the parks supersize the magic and fun between Thanksgiving and New Year's. Disney World delivers a holiday wonderland of epic proportions. Dozens of impossibly perfect Christmas trees, miles of garland, millions of twinkling lights, and other holiday signposts appear overnight and transform every corner of the resort. Special holiday attractions and events, such as the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights (Disney’s Hollywood Studios) abound throughout the parks and across the resort, but Disney's Christmas magic may best be appreciated in the unexpected discovery of some of its less-trumpeted features. For example, a fragrant and festive gingerbread house resides inside the lobby of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. This is no ordinary house of cookies. At 16 feet high, and comprised of thousands of gin-

gerbread pieces, guests can actually walk inside the Victorian house. The curiosity doubles as a mini bakery, and patrons can purchase edible gingerbread cookies and other goodies. There are other Christmas creations throughout the World, including a life-size carousel made from chocolate and gingerbread in the lobby of Disney's Beach Club Resort. At the Magic Kingdom you can take in Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. This is a special event held each winter on select nights at Magic Kingdom theme park. (Purchase of an additional event admission ticket is required to attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party). The event is filled with a special Christmas parade, a Holiday Wishes fireworks show, special performances, "complimentary" Christmas cookies and cocoa, and ‘snow’ falling on Main Street USA. Cinderella's Castle will be decked out in "Castle Dream Lights" for the holidays. The most popular Magic Kingdom attractions open for the events. At EPCOT you have the Candlelight Processional. This is a special holiday event held nightly at the American Gardens Theatre

in Epcot theme park as part of Holidays Around The World. The event retells the story of Christmas with a celebrity narrator (such as Whoopi Goldberg, Isabella Rossellini, and Trace Adkins), orchestra and choir. And do not miss The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights on the Streets of America at Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park is a massive (this is an understatement!) seasonal display featuring millions of holiday lights perfectly synchronized to music. Take your time while visiting this attraction to see all the details that go into making this happen. They start in AUGUST putting the lights up. Wow. These are just a few highlights to be found while visiting during the holidays. Remember there are still great deals during this timeframe – FREE Dining during select days (most of December has free dining), Free gift card and Room only discounts. Call Fred to plan your Disney trips for the rest of 2010 and for 2011! He is already working on Summer 2011 trips.
