Sharp Mint State with nearly full cross and shield on a small flan, bold retrograde S to left (unlisted variety, possibly attributable to 1698), very interesting (and of course comical to British folks). From the 1715 Fleet, with original Peninsula Exploration and Salvage Corporation plastic tag #1425. Estimate: $1,500$2,250.

Superb luster and grade, with choice full shield showing transposed lions and castles (like Restrepo-M66.40 but this date not listed), very bold full date outside of off-center cross, finest in NGC census by NINE grades. From the 1715 Fleet, pedigreed to the Santa Fe Collection (our Auction #10), with original lot-tag #51. NGC #4721767-001. Estimate: $3,000-$4,500.
