SARAH ELLIOTT aka Sedje Hello! I’m Sarah, some people call me Sedje, a UK born Graphic Design er. I lik e t o t h in k , I’ m a c o mbination of Gre at B ritish design traditions and European flair. I’m a lover of print making and photography, occasional hikes and regular coffees, but most importantly though I have a thirst for all things design. I have been working in the design industry for over four years, working on all aspects of design, across numerous commercial sectors, striving with every project to create visually appealing, stimulating work. In this time I have been lucky enough to work on some really interesting and fun projects, from art directing photoshoots to illustrating chickens. I’ve had to work independently at times and collaboratively as part of a wider team. Here’s a taste of some of my work. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I did doing it.

1884 A luxury marina side restaurant with a ‘gate to plate’ philosophy, 1884 Dock Street Kitchen has transformed eating in Hull. Rivalling the best of London and New York it is an eatery which appreciates good, locally grown modern British food. The aim was to achieve and develop a brand that could be reflective of this. A tasteful, elegant yet relaxed look and feel was established, giving the customer a taste of the place and an ambient vibe even before they walked through the door.

PICCALILLY Piccalilly is a baby and childrenswear brand, designed in the UK and manufactured to the highest ethical standards using the finest organic cotton. The challenge was to create a welcoming, friendly brand that would clearly present the company’s huge passion for ‘kind to wear’ clothes, free from nasty chemicals and pesticides while sh o w ca sin g t h e f un , t im eless a n d colourful de sig ns. Together with the client we defined the positioning of their brand and created a brand identity that would entice parents while still being loved by kids. In turn, this developed into a range of promotional materials including a responsive website, customer catalogues, email and direct mail campaigns.

ARTIZAN On the outskirts of Glasgow, Artizan Shopping Centre provides shoppers with more than 30 retail stores. A key feature for the visual identity was to create a pleasant shopping environment and to engage with the local community. Creating a fresh, bright and modern brand identity in and around the centre helped reflect the values of the centre and inspire the different feelings a good shopping trip can really produce.

BIO D Bio D embraces its philosophy that it is possible to have effective, natural and safe cleaning products that don’t cost the earth. To prove this, they have developed a range of effective, natural, biodegradable household products that are ethically sound, safe to use and have minimal environmental impact on our planet. Using Bio D’s existing logo, the brief was to create a simple, refreshed look and feel that reflected the company and its commitments to safe natural ingredients.

GRETNA Gretna Green Shopping Centre situated in Scotland provides a range of outlets and boasts more than 50 big brand stores. An understanding of this truly unique shopping destination and it’s offering, both in terms of retailers and location, was key to being able to create a brand that is truly different and creative. A process of art direction was put in place, helping the ideas and visuals come to life. From initial sketches and ideas with clients to organising and directing photoshoots these all helped to build a visual identity that connected with shoppers and added elements of fun.

ROOTS & WINGS Roots & Wings is an art based charity in Hull offering fantastic opportunities for artists and art organisations, providing them with new cultural experiences and inspiring them through the arts. The aim was to create an exciting and vibrant brand identity to help encourage and catch the attention of local audiences and organisations. A series of advertising assets and a responsive website, following the exciting and flexible identity, helped connect with people and inspire them to get involved.

CLUCK & PECK Situated in the heart of Yorkshire, Cluck & Peck provides organic eggs and local produce to a range of buyers. To help advertise and encourage buyers a friendly and light hearted look and feel was established to help the company stand out against competition and encourage repeat custom. An important requirement for the brand was to create a fun, unique and easily recognisable identity.

JACKSON SQ Jackson Square Shopping Centre is home to more than 40 high street stores. The brief was to establish a contemporary and clean brand identity with a modern touch. A stylish choice of photography mixed with a modern colour palette gave the centre a fashionable and appealing identity to a range of shoppers and potential store brands as well as adding longevity and impact to the centre.

HOT CHILI PEPPER Hot Chili Pepper provides a selection of good quality - spicy tasty food from their mobile van, what more could you want?! The aim was to create a relaxed, vibrant brand that screamed out tasty delicious food and drinks, with a light hearted tone and language.
