Top Gun: Maverick 8th - 10th July 2022

Welcome to the latest Seaton Gateway What’s On Guide

June is busting out a ll over! Looking out of the Gateway Theatre office window over to Windsor Gardens, everything has suddenly

burst into life, and the team from Seaton Town Council have been busy tidying the flower beds, so it all looks very colourful. But aren’t the days flying by at lightning speed! I was told off for mentioning it, but we have already

planned our Christmas programme, and we’re very excited to be welcoming Wonder Pantomimes here for their Dick Whittington performance… oh yes we are! Meanwhile, we have a fantastic line-up of films, live theatre, screenings and music, as well as our regular community activities including the U3A, keep-fit dance classes, yoga, and Taekwondo.

We are looking forward to celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. This once in a lifetime occasion is being streamed live for Trooping the Colour on Friday and the Party in the Palace on Saturday 4 June.

We’ve decked the auditorium with flags and bunting, so why not come along to enjoy a right royal party! But if it’s high-flying fast paced by-the-seat-of-your-pants action you’re looking for, then you’ll like our Top Gun Maverick weekend. We are holding our special red carpet Gala Night on Friday 8 July, when the Mayor of Seaton will join us for this extra special evening. You can mingle with friends whilst our staff and volunteers welcome you with a complimentary drink on arrival and a selection of delicious canape thanks to the fabulous Le

Pisani. But if you can’t make the Gala Night, there’s always the Film Picnic Night on Saturday 9 July or the matinee on the Sunday. So we really have covered all bases to make sure we bring you the very best in entertainment, and we hope to see you soon!

The much-anticipated cinematic return of the global phenomenon reunites the beloved cast as they go on a grand journey to the South of France to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess’ newly inherited villa.

“It’s an unashamedly feel-good movie,” said Fellowes “I like the idea that people go into the movie and have a great two hours and then go out to have dinner. That seems to me to be a good thing. If we are useful for cheering people up and giving them an easy time of it, that doesn't bother me.”
