A priority of mine will be to find ways in which to help the lives of students searching for accomodation easier.

Monday: Trinity Halls: 20:00-21:00 Tuesday: Arts Block: 10:00-18:00 Hamilton: 10:00-18:00 Tallaght Hospital 12:00-14:00 D’olier Street: 12:00-14:00 James Hospital: 12:00-14:00 Wednesday:

I have met with the accommodation officer and discussed the potential scope for an idea that will improve the accommodation advisory service. I have an idea for a “buddy system” to allow students find other students searching for suitable accommodation. This online database could help students find other students in a similar situation from the comfort of their home. The different criteria on the database will include: Name, Budget, Year, Interests, Degree, Faculty as well as contact details.

Accessibility

Office hours: it is a disgrace that House 6 is inaccessible for people with physical disabilities. To combat this, I will hold office hours in different on-campus and off-campus locations. I will be increasing sabbatical office hours from 2 hours every week to 4 hours. As every student in Trinity has a registered TCD account, I will change the online platform for communication from Skype to Google Hangout. Accountability : Sabbats will write weekly diaries informing the students of work done by each sabbat and within the Union. College awareness week: Liasing with the TAP officer and the accessibility programmes on campus, I will increase promotion of the ‘College Awareness Week’ to try to create a more inclusive atmosphere in Trinity.

Campaigns The 8th Amendment : I will campaign vigorously in favour of Repeal. If the 8th amendment is Repealed, as a Union we will lobby the Government for student intervention in the creation of the legislation. Higher Education Funding: College should be accessible to all; regardless of socio - economic background. As head of the union I will fight against any fee increases and cuts to grants. Direct Provision: Locally, I will continue the fight to remove Aramark from our campus. I will promote the campaign on campus to make Trinity a University of Sanctuary and liaise with the relevant groups on campus to achieve this.

Local issues Supplemental Fees Proposal: In the upcoming preferendum I will be advocating against a change in the area of supplemental fees to prevent financially penalising students during a stressful time. Gender Equality: As president I will continue to support the different diversity workshops. Mental Health : 1 in 3 students have used the counselling service in some capacity. This service is essential to students. I will continue the fight to ensure that there is no cuts to the counselling service. Environment : I will lobby College for increased compost bins on campus. I will support Plastic Free TCD in their endeavours on campus.
