Sunday 17 November 2013 Come to Lara Library and enjoy some special activities as part of the Lara youth Festival, Parkfest. 11.30 am – 1pm Leo’s Workshop with Author/Illustrator Marc McBride

- Join popular author and illustrator Marc McBride for a hands-on workshop all about writing and illustrating books. Hear about Marc’s favourite genre, fantasy, which he became passionate about when he first watched Star Wars as a young boy. Hear about Marc’s childhood ambition to grow up to be King Kong.

1.30 – 2.00pm Existdance Hip Hop Workshop

– learn some practical tips in this informative and fun work shop.

Torquay artist Mike Mclean has his own unique style that merges between traditional oil paintings and modern street art. His vibrant colours and masterful brush strokes leave you captivated and engaged. With a strong depiction of female portraits and native birds, each image highlights both design intelligence and a natural creativity of this talented artist. Working with disengaged youth on a variety of art projects over the past 15 years, Mike’s passion for his trade, raw skill and life experiences are shared through his work in the community.
