LYNCHBURG, VA - The No. 10 ranked Lynchburg College men’s lacrosse team vanquished visiting Hood College 26-4 on Saturday night from Shellenberger Field.

Lynchburg scored the first two goals of the game and nine of the first ten and never looked back. Stephen Weis’ (St. Louis, MO/ Christian Brothers) four goals and one assist and Austin Jeter’s (Coppell, TX/Episcopal) four scores led the Hornets. Robert Flintoff (Suffolk, VA/Nansemond-Suffolk), Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson), Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield), Taylor Stehlgens (New Vernon, NJ/Madison), Pat Manders (Potomac, MD/Gonzaga), Kyle McGuire (Burke, VA/Robinson), and Cooper Kyprianou (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) each posted two goals. Norby King (Bryn Mawr, PA/Cardinal O’Hara) was 10-13 on faceoffs along with eight groundballs, while Jeff Schwartz (New City, NY/Tabor Academy) finished 8-12 on faceoffs.

Will Oconis led the Blazers (0-12) with three goals and Dominique Shorter tallied a score. LC held a 57-12 advantage in shots, a 52-17 advantage in groundballs, won 25 of 33 faceoffs, and was successful on 13 of 15 clear attempts. The game was be televised, airing on Jet Broadband’s channel 7 on Wednesday, April 2 (7 p.m.) and Friday, April 4th (TBA). Lynchburg (6-2) returns to the field on Wednesday to battle the Poets of Whittier College at 7 pm.
