For immediate release – 11/9/2007 - #1189 Four Hornets Honored on All-ODAC Men’s Soccer Team SALEM, VA – Four Lynchburg College players were honored Friday with the release of the 2007 All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men’s Soccer team. Sophomore Pat Brown (Williamsburg, VA/Christchurch) was named to the first-team. The defender played in all 18 games and helped lead a defense that allowed just 25 goals all season. He also contributed with one goal and two assists for four points. Senior forward Maurwyn Bowen (Montgomery Village, MD/Seneca Valley) and senior midfielder Modou Jobarteh (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) were each named to the second-team while sophomore midfielder Josh Reed (Newark, DE/Caravel Academy) earned honorable mention. Bowen posted two goals and one assist for five points this fall and Jobarteh tallied two goals and a team second best three assists for seven points. Reed tied for the team lead in goals with six and finished second in points with 12. Virginia Wesleyan College’s Brandon Massies was voted the Player of the Year while Josh Laux from Hampden-Sydney College was the Coach of the Year. Hampden-Sydney’s John Robert Plyer was honored as Rookie of the Year and Virginia Wesleyan’s Travis Cober was named Scholar-Athlete of the year.
