MYP

Middle Years Programme Life in the 21st century places many changing demands on students making the transition through adolescence. They are at a crucial period of personal, social, physical and intellectual development. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme is designed to help young people find a sense of belonging in an increasingly interrelated world by fostering a positive attitude toward learning and living as engaged citizens. The Mission Bay High School (MBHS) Middle Years Programme (MYP) is for all 9th and 10th grade students and embodies the concept of inquirybased learning across the subject groups below. This approach provides an instructional framework that encourages our students to understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world as creative, critical and reflective thinkers.

DP

Diploma Programme

“Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember, involve me and I understand.” - Chinese Proverb

The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is an academically rigorous and balanced programme of education with final examinations that prepares high school juniors and seniors for success in higher education and life in a global society.

The programme is designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical wellbeing of students. It has gained recognition and respect from universities in many countries with course results weighted toward college credit.

MBHS Diploma Programme Curriculum

In 11th grade, students declare themselves as “candidates” along one of the following paths: 1. Certificate - Take one or more DP courses for IB recognized ‘certificate’ credit, or 2.
