PRESIDENT ’S REPORT DEBBRA HOUSEMAN October 2021. Fall has arrived. As we are receiving these magazines, many of us are preparing to travel to the Fall Conference in Spearfish. Thank you Spearfish for hosting our conference. As the conference closes out, I will be handing over my gavel to Steve Allender, the mayor of Rapid City and our current serving First Vice President of the SDML Board of Directors. Congratulations Steve, and I hope you enjoy this experience as much as I have! The last two years have been filled with many interesting events. I entered my term on the cuffs of dealing with FEMA following major floods across our state and continued my term through a pandemic. We have all learned many lessons regarding patience, natural disasters, and new norms in our roles as municipal officials. We've learned that we will always be adapting to what is going on around us. In closing, I would like to say it has been a humbling and pleasurable experience, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve. Thank you,
