Royal Rangers Update February 2013 Our Royal Rangers have been busy the last couple of months! On December 7-8, Frontiersmen Camping Fellow- shippers from around the state met in Pierre for a craft day. The FCF staff from Wisconsin was kind enough to come out and teach us some leather working skills. It was a great time of fellowship and fun! We have plans to make this an annual event, so stay tuned! If you do not currently have FCF for your middle and high school boys, contact me or Alan Drews, our FCF president, for more information. a Last weekend, February 1-2, the annual Winter Powwow was held in Rapid City at First Assembly. We had a great time, with over 65 in attendance. The theme was medieval, and boys got to participate in jousting, fencing, catapult battles, dodge ball, and other fun events. On Saturday, boys were able to choose from several merits work on, including BB guns, firearm safety, swimming, camping, camp safety, archery, and darts. Our council fire service on Friday night was great, with Pastor Eric Griffin speaking. God met boys and men during the prayer time!! On March 9th, we will be having a meeting for all outpost coordinators (senior commanders) from all Ranger outposts. We will meet at the Americinn Lodge in Chamberlain. This important meeting will involve setting goals for the district, planning and discussing vision for the annual summer powwow, presenting updates and changes to the ministry, and question/answer time. I will be contacting you with further information. Congratulations to Tim Jacobson from First Assembly in Rapid City for completing his Gold Medal of Achievement! He is only the 10th boy in South Dakota in 50 years to complete the highest honor for a Ranger!! It takes a tremendous amount of work and dedication to accomplish this. Also, congratulations to Lee Basco and Alan Drews for attending the Ranger Kids Training Camp held in Houston last fall, and to Alan Drews for attaining the Advanced level of Commander training. We look forward to what God has in store for the South Dakota district Royal Rangers this year! If you do not currently have Rangers in your church and have interest, please contact me!

In Christ,

James Dye - District Director
