When I called about the job posting, I told them I speak “Dora-Level” Spanish as my kids used to watch Dora the Explorer and that was about the only Spanish I knew. It turns out that La Red serves people from all cultures and nationalities, and supports me via interpreters whenever necessary to effectively communicate with my Spanish speaking patients.”

Ericka Daniel, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Ericka has significant experience treating patients in multiple settings including: long term care, ambulatory surgery, hospice and medical surgical nursing. Ericka joined La Red Health Center on March 21, 2016, and will work primarily out of the Georgetown office. Prior to joining La Red Health Center, Ericka served as Family Nurse Practitioner, Director Clinical Services for Connections Community Services Program in Georgetown, Delaware, where she provided primary and urgent care services to patients fifteen and older. Ericka also worked as a Staff Registered Nurse at the Bayhealth Medical Center in Milford, Delaware and was a member of the Delaware Technical and Community College Adjunct Faculty Terry Campus. Ericka received her Masters of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from Wilmington University in May 2015, a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in May 2011, and Associates of Science in Nursing in 1997 from Drexel University Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Ericka earned her family nurse practitioner credentials through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2015. Ericka holds professional memberships with the following organizations: • American Association of Nurses • American Association of Nurse Practitioners According to Ericka, “It has been an honor to be welcomed into the La Red Health Center family. Patty Walton, Family Nurse Practitioner-BC La Red Health Center is delighted to announce that Patty Walton, FNP-BC has rejoined La Red Health Center on June 1, 2016 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Patty has had significant experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Home Health Nurse and Labor and Delivery Nurse for various Sussex County Health Care organizations. Patty initially joined La Red Health Center in September of 2007 and worked as a Registered Nurse until March of 2011, providing direct patient care for primary care and obstetrical patients as well as interpreting services for medical practitioners. For the past five years, Patty has worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Lewes Medical and Surgical Associates, providing primary care services (assess, diagnose, prescribe and treat) for diverse patient populations aged 11 years and older. Patty received an MSN- Family Practice Nurse Practitioner from Wilmington University in December of 2010, a BSN from Salisbury University in December of 2005, an MA in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from Indiana University in December 1997, and a BA in Spanish from Washington College in May 1996 Patty is credentialed as an ANCC Family Practice NP, a Certified Medical Examiner by the National Registry of Medical Examiners, US Department of Transportation and a certified Medical Interpreter in Spanish. According to Patty, “Returning to La Red feels like coming back home to friends,

family and community!” Both Ericka and Patty come to La Red Health Center with a significant amount of experience in family practice medicine having served in various primary care settings during the course of their careers and I believe they will be a great addition to La Red Health Center and complement our existing staff, said Rosa Rivera, LRHC’s Chief Operating Officer. As a leading provider of medical, dental and mental health services in Sussex County, Delaware, LRHC has been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance, (NCQA) as a Level III Patient-Centered Medical Home, (PCMH) at both its Georgetown and Seaford Sites and is currently seeking NCQA specialty recognition as a PCMH for its Prenatal and Behavioral Health programs, which are being integrated into the overall PCMH model. LRHC will also pursue NCQA recognition for the New Milford site that opened in 2015.

LRHC’s medical services are available to all individuals regardless of gender, age, race, ethnic origin, religion, language, sexual orientation, or ability to pay. LRHC offers a sliding fee scale based on income and family size for uninsured patients, and accepts the United Health Care Plan, Highmark Health Options, most commercial insurance plans, Medicare and Medicaid, and most plans available through the Delaware Marketplace. Patients can also receive assistance to fill out Medicaid applications, obtain free or discounted prescription drugs, and under certain circumstances obtain transportation assistance if it is available.
