Press Release from Pete Giovannini, Executive Director Van Buren County Economic Development Corp. Van Buren County Economic Development Corporation Begins Branding and Marketing Initiative The Van Buren County Economic Development Corporation has retained Ridge Group, a branding, media and web solutions consultancy in Conway, Arkansas to create a web portal and brand for use in marketing Van Buren County to prospective businesses, residents and tourists. Clinton, Arkansas August 2, 2010 – The Van Buren County Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors met recently to consider proposals for a project aimed at creating the tools necessary to establish Van Buren County on the world wide web. The Board voted unanimously to accept the proposal from Ridge Group to develop a web portal for use in marketing Van Buren County to prospective businesses, residents and tourists and to create a brand that will identify Van Buren County. Ridge Group team members will make several visits to Van Buren County. “In today’s marketplace, a community without web visibility is at a severe disadvantage when it comes to attracting businesses and tourists. I expect the people from Ridge Group to come here and meet with members of the Quorum Court, the City Councils of the municipalities in the county and business representatives in order to identify what makes Van Buren County unique and attractive” said Pete Giovannini, Executive Director of the Van Buren County Economic Development Corporation. Meetings will be held beginning August 12, 2010 in a variety of locations throughout the county. Mr. Ancil Lea and Mr. Jon Love of Ridge Group will be on hand for the meetings. They will be talking with and surveying those who wish to get involved about their thoughts, feelings and ideas for and about Van Buren County to create a template for the design of the web portal and brand and the content needed for the web presence. About Van Buren County Economic Development Corporation: The Van Buren County Economic Development Corporation is a public-private partnership founded by business and elected leaders from the county to further Van Buren County‘s interests, wants and needs. The main focus is on helping local residents start businesses, helping local businesses expand and prosper and attracting businesses and tourist from outside the county to relocate and vacation here.
