“Happiness and Joy to the world” Royal Ladies, Season’s Greetings to all. I Hope you are planning some wonderful festive celebrations. Let the New Year bring in pleasant surprises, a series of memorable serendipities and victorious achievements. Let there be peace and joy in the world and less sufferings. Let us all have more patience, hope and perseverance, let us always remember how lucky we are to have what we have, without taking things for granted and by helping the less fortunate ones any way we can. It’s hard to believe that another year has flown by as quickly as it came and now it’s time for new resolutions for some, new commitments for others and new calendars for everyone. The beauty of the season can remind us of all the beauty in our lives. Your family, your friends, and your faith. I personally want to thank everyone for their endless energy, knowledge and commitment this year to help us have a successfully year. It’s great to be a member for a cure through cancer research.

Reference Committee Meeting on Bylaws The Bylaws Committee will hold a Bylaws Reference (Resolutions) Committee meeting on December 1, 2011, 11:30 – 1:00 pm, at the Hilton Hotel. This is not a lunch meeting, and the room will be set up with seats. A Reference Committee meeting is meant to be a means of allowing members to comment on proposed amendments. There is no debate, since it would be inappropriate to allow debate in any meeting other than the annual meeting, where all members who choose to attend are present and able to participate in the debate. The Bylaws Committee will take notes on all comments, and will meet after the Reference Committee meeting to consider member comments. The Bylaws Committee will present a Reference Committee report to the members at the annual meeting. If the Bylaws Committee decides to amend any of the noticed bylaws, these amendments to the noticed (those document mailed to you) bylaws will be contained in the Reference Committee report. The Bylaws Chair will open the meeting with general remarks. As each Article is introduced, the Committee will offer remarks before opening the floor for comments. The Reference Committee meeting will be very precise, with a committee member timing speakers, who are allowed to speak for ONE minute on as many Articles as they choose, but they will not be acknowledged to speak more than one time on each Article, in order to allow other members to speak. Please do not repeat anything another person has said. Members find it beneficial to have written comments prepared, so they are able to give their comments in the allotted time. Courtesy is vital, and every member must yield the floor after ONE minute, so other members can offer their comments. Each Article, no matter how many amendments are proposed within the Article, will be open for comment for seven (7) minutes, and then will move to the next Article. If there is additional time after every Article has been considered, additional comments will be taken on previous Articles. The meeting will end promptly at 1:00 pm. Directory Update At the annual meeting in December we will be distributing an insert for you current directory or for you to update your 2011 Directory. Since the Directory is so expensive to print and mail, we have decided to print a new directory every other year. However, also at the annual meeting I will have the list of Dames who do not have a photo in the directory and plan to take photos for the December 2012 directory. And if you would like to update your dated photo (mine is probably 20 years old) please see me for a new photo and I will be happy to take a new one. So, PLEASE attend this annual meeting! Dannon has pledged to donate 1.5 million dollars to fight breast cancer by December 31. The amount raised so far is only $709,000 dollars with only two months to go. Florida is second only to California in codes being logged on their website. ORD Birthday Update… By Naida Rasbury and Bern Paraiso November 2011

October Birthday Luncheon The October Birthday luncheon was held at Mesa De Notte Restaurant at Silver Springs Boulevard on October 10, 2011. Birthday luncheon is organized to meet and get-to-know ORD co-members every month. Celebrating October birthdays were: Edna De Geneste (chair), Corinne De Vault (co-chair), Angelia Boynton, Lois Price, and Leslie Scale. Naida Rasbury, committee chair and Bern Paraiso assistant, also participated in the luncheon. In-house seafood pasta became the most ordered dish in the menu. ORD signature cake was served later followed by the Happy Birthday song sung by Naida Rasbury and Chef Jose Moreno, owner/manager of the restaurant. “The food was fresh and very tasty,” said one of the attendees. The luncheon concluded by Edna De Geneste giving away beautiful long stemmed pink roses to take home. For information about birthday luncheon, call Naida at 687-0981 or Bern at 216-5493. All ORD members are invited to join these luncheons. From all of us, Happy Birthday ORD!

Cleaning for a Reason If you know any woman currently undergoing chemotherapy, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning - once per month for 4 months while she is in treatment. All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment. Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service. This organization serves the entire USA and currently has 547 partners to help these women. It's our job to pass the word and let them know that there are people out there that care.
