For Immediate Release November 27, 2012 Up & Away youth home goods for young girls launches for the upcoming fall season. Up & Away is excited to announce the launch of the girl’s youth home bedding collection at one of the most respected department stores in the world, Macy’s. The collection features the use of trend colors for the season, yet also remains classic for the traditional buyer. The collection is sure to gain notice with the attention to detail and the focus on the customer’s desires. The launch of Up & Away will take place in Chicago at the infamous Macy’s on State Street located at 111 North State Street in Chicago, IL. The Wizard of Oz inspired line will debut its new fall 2013 collection on August 1, 2013. The launch event, Pajama Day, will be held on August 9, 2013 and will begin at 5:30 pm with fun and healthy snacks and beverages provided. The collection features whimsical elements such as hot air balloons and colors reminiscent of the mystical Land of Oz, while still keeping in mind the colors of the season such as buttery yellow, navy blue, classic pink, and ivory with a shot of ruby red. The designs feature classic stripes and polka dots set against each other in a playful way. The new collection is said to be tasteful, durable and transitional so the collection can last into the girl’s teen years. “We are excited to offer a collection that is traditional and classic just like our customer, keeping in mind the durability and longevity of the product so that they can grow up with our brand,” notes Design chief of Staff, Sarah Markgraf. “Our customer is very important to us. Staying true to their tastes is at the top of our minds to ensure their happiness and satisfaction with our product. We were inspired by not only by the Wizard of Oz movie, but the young audience that grows up watching this film, much like they will grow up with our product.” The young customer’s tastes and qualities the parent looks for are very prominent throughout this collection. Up & Away Company Biography Up & Away was created by Columbia College Chicago graduate, 22 year old, Sarah Markgraf. Markgraf graduated in the spring of 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Business. Through an upper-level course at CCC called, Merchandise Management, Markgraf was given an assignment where she had to create a product line based off of randomly selected categories. Happy with the selections, she began to develop different ideas for what an eight to twelve year old conservative girl’s ideal bedroom would look like. Markgraf drew much of her inspiration from the classic film, The Wizard of Oz and noted that the trend colors for the upcoming season fell perfectly into her idea of what the collection should look like.
