We are all directors of our own movies and we are the main character. All others are supporting actors and performers on the stage. It is said that when we die, there is a screening and a review! Hope you will enjoy the show.
THE DIRECTOR ...reveals his story, frame by frame. In the beginning of every relationship, you get the trailer, the best frames of the movie—call it the promo, because at the screening you can decide if the teaser is tantalizing enough. It is also an opportunity for you to become the observer in your own movie. Step back and see yourself in real time. Are there parts you want to retake? The movie, “Ground Hog Day” illustrates this idea perfectly. Play it out until you don’t have to relive the same scene over and over—until you get it right. Life is a series of episodes and each episode offers you a choice. You are FREE to choose. You will it, you do it, you react and replay it.

The Secret of Light, Chapter XII Light cannot be seen, it can only be known. Light is still. The sense of sight cannot respond to stillness. That which the eyes "feel" and believe to be Light is but wave motion simulating the idea of Light.
In the Wave Lies the
Secret of Creation
Like all things else in this electric wave universe the idea of Light cannot be produced. Electric waves simulate idea only. They do not become idea. When man sees the light of the sun he believes that he is actually seeing light when the nerves of his eyes are but "feeling" the intense, rapid, shortwave vibrations of the kind of wave motion which he senses as incandescence. The intensely vibrant electric current mirrored into the senses of the eyes fairly burns them. They cannot stand that high rate of vibration. The eyes would be destroyed by such a vibration but light would not be the cause of that destruction. Fast motion, simulating light, would be the cause. It would be like sending a high voltage electric current over a wire, so fine that the current would burn it out. Man likewise cannot see darkness. The nerves of his eyes, which sense motion, slow down to a rate of vibration that he can no longer "feel." Man is so accustomed to the idea that he actually sees light in various intensities illuminating various substances to greater or lesser degree that it is difficult for him to realize that his own senses are but acting as mirrors to reflect various intensities of wave motion. But that is all that is happening.

Every electrically conditioned thing in Nature reflects the vibrations of every other thing, to fulfill its desire to synchronize its vibrations with every other thing. All matter is the motion of light. All motion is expressed in waves. All light waves are mirrors that reflect each other's condition unto the farthermost star. This is an electrically conditioned wave universe. All wave conditions are forever seeking oneness. For this reason all sensation responds to all other sensation.
Is Light A Wave Or Corpuscle? Much controversy has arisen as to whether light is corpuscular (a particle), as Newton claimed it to be, or waves. There is much evidence in favor of both theories.
It is both. Light is expressed
by motion. All motion is wave motion. All waves are expressed by fields of equal and opposite pressures of two-way motion. The entire volume within wave fields is filled with the two opposite expressions of motion-the positive expression that compresses light into solids, and the negative expression that expands it into space surrounding solids. All space within wave fields is curved. Curvature ends at planes of zero curvature that bound all wave fields. These boundary planes of omnipresent magnetic Light act as mirrors to reflect all curvature into all other wave fields in the universe, and as fulcrums from which motion in one wave field is universally repeated.
All Matter Is Wave Motion Together these constitute what we call matter and space. It has been difficult to conceive light as being purely corpuscular, for light is presumed to fill all space. Space is not empty. It is full of wave motion. Corpuscles of matter are one half of wave cycles of light. Space is the other half. There need be no mystery as to whether light is corpuscular or wave, for waves of motion which simulate the light and darkness of space is all there is. The light and space, differs compressed into sands of time in water.
motion of solid matter, and of gaseous matter of only in volume and condition. Water of earth is small volume while water of the heavens is expanded thou volume. Each condition is the opposite half of the cycle of
Water vapor is water turned inside out. It again becomes water by turning outside in. Expansion- contraction sequences result from this process.
All Matter Is Simulated Light Water of the heavens still is water, and it still is light waves. No change whatsoever has taken place between the waters of earth and those of the heavens except a change of its condition from positive to negative preponderance. This change is due solely to a change of its direction in respect to its center of gravity.

All dense cold matter, such as iron, stone, wood, and all growing or decaying things, are light. We do not think of them as light but all are waves of motion, and all waves of motion are light. Light is all there is in the spiritual universe of knowing, and simulation of that light in opposite extensions is all there is in the electric wave universe of sensing. The simulation of light in matter is not light. There is no light in matter. Perhaps the confusion which attends this idea would be lessened if we classify everything concerning the spiritual universe, such as life, intelligence, truth, power, knowledge and balance as being the One Light of Knowing, and everything concerning matter and motion as being the two simulated lights of thinking.
Thinking expresses knowing in matter but matter does not think, nor does it know. Thinking also expresses life, truth, idea, power and balance by recording the ideas of those qualities in the two lights of matter in motion, but matter does not live, nor is it truth, balance or idea, even though it simulates those spiritual qualities. Man's confusion concerning this differentiation lies in his, long assumption of the reality of matter. His assumption that his body is his Self, that his knowledge is in his brain, and that he lives and dies because his body integrates and disintegrates, has been so fundamental a part of his thinking
that it is diďŹƒcult for him to reverse his
thinking to the fact that matter is but motion and has no reality beyond simulating reality.

Walter Russell “The Universal One” “The Universal One” is Walter Russell's first expression of his new Cosmogony explaining the Mind-centered electromagnetic universe. Nikola Tesla told Walter Russell to hide his cosmogony from the world for a thousand years. Though a century or more ahead of its time, “The Universal One”, uniting spiritual Cause and scientifically observable Effect in a seamless whole, is now appealing to the many people--scientists and laymen alike--who are examining the nature of science and consciousness. In this 1926 historic volume, Walter Russell first reveals the possibility of transmutation of the elements. This is a universe of Mind, a finite universe, limited as to cause, and to the effect of cause. A finite universe, in which the effects of cause are limited, must also be limited as to cause; so when that measurable cause is known, then can man comprehend and measure all effects. The effects of cause are complex and mystify man, but cause itself is simple. The universe is a multiplicity of changing effects of but One unchanging cause. All things are universal. Nothing is which is not universal. Nothing is of itself alone. Man and Mind and all creating things are universal. No man can say: 'I alone am I.' There is but One universe, One Mind, One force, One substance. When man knows this in measurable exactness then will he have no limitations within those which are universal."

My cameraless photographs are images created as an interpretation and celebration of the design of being. In March 1999, I began to feel a need to explore the tools of my medium beyond both their traditional and innovative uses as means to advance self-expression. In contrast to those artists who are turning to technology for additional tools to achieve their own freedoms, I turned to simplicity, mindful craftsmanship and the direct exposure of photographic materials to exercise my own freedom of expression. Using neither camera nor lens, my new technique has more in common with Japanese ink brush painting and improvisational jazz than it does with the current practices of photography. Each delivery of light, like every brush stroke or note played, is unrehearsed, and, once released, cannot be undone. The recognition that light in all its manifestations nourishes my life allows me to accept the rigorous demands of this process of imaging as an exercise in awakening. Although the technique has no relationship to those I have used previously, the quality of the creative experience is similar to that of photographing the landscape of my beloved California. The imagery succeeds once I reach a point where my conscious intention dissipates, and is replaced by a sense of being a conduit for the serendipitous dance I’ve imagined between the subject of the piece and the spirit of its expression. This shift creates a perilous condition, moving me into a world that is unfamiliar and full of risk, but vibrant and full of possibility. With this work, I am pursuing something that I cannot define, anticipate or manipulate into existence. In surrendering to the dance of art, I see my life and my work as parts of that design of being which I seek to understand. -Robert Buelteman

INTRODUCTION TO SIGNS OF LIFE
My odyssey from landscape photographer to whatever I might be now is a story that, while not exceptional, is instructive as to the creation of the works that are contained in this book. In March of 1999, after a month working in Italy supervising the printing of Eighteen Days in June, my monograph on the Djerassi Resident Artists Program, I returned to face my frustration in creating a new distinction in the well-worn tradition of Western Landscape photography. After twenty-five years in that tradition, and three years working on the book, I elected to take another road trip to explore both inner and outer landscapes, this time to the Southwest. On a stunningly clear night in the Arizona desert not far from the Mexican border, my carefully designed life was undone by a simple realization: That my future would look like my past if I continued to follow the path I was on. In that moment out of time, I chose to cease my use of black and white film, cameras and lenses, and, as a means to simplify my creative vision, computers as well. Given the investment I had made exploring landscape art, I was surprised by my choice yet knew I was on the right path when I awoke the following day as excited about life as I had been since I was a child. In my days wandering the desert that followed, I had dreams in which I saw extraordinary visions, images of life itself. So here it begins again, ten years later, creating another book to share my art and the gift its inspiration provides.

We hunger for transcendence, for awareness of a truth beyond the isolation we experience day-to-day, and will do just about anything to gain it. This has been the driving force of my work for as long as I can remember, to express those singular moments out of time when the wall between us and the rest of the world dissolves. This ordinary thirst for a deeper connection to life drives extraordinary behaviors.
Mystics fast, mind-altering drugs are consumed, property is
willfully surrendered, rational thought is suspended, and even life itself is put at risk, all for the promise of a taste of the divine. Ironically, sometimes it is this very desire that keeps us separate from the transcendent experience that we seek. In my work as a photographer I have gained a profound understanding of life by being present to the world as it is, without thought, without interpretation. Indeed, it seems that Presence, the mind silent, the heart open, is the sole requirement for the experience of beauty. You don’t need to believe in heaven if you have ever seen a hummingbird.

The Rise and Fall of the Halo MĂceĂĄl Ledwith Stories of the renowned saints and mystics always fascinate; the vortex of many colors that surrounded Joseph of Cupertino before he performed his outstanding feats of levitation and teleportation; or the adventures of that paradox of mysteries, Teresa of Avila. She was profoundly mystical, yet an immensely practical reformer of enormous energy, a bastion of orthodoxy, while at the same time under suspicion by the Inquisition who believed her paranormal feats were diabolical in origin. When she came from prayer her fellow workers were frequently dazzled by the blaze of light surrounding her head. Anyone who ever pokes through the dusty files of history will certainly agree that "things are seldom what they seem," including Teresa of Avila's halo. Many of the most sacred religious practices and symbols often have quite a different origin and explanation than is commonly assumed. While this is certainly true of the halo's history, what is even more interesting is what this phenomenon might now herald for a new stage of awareness in humanity's evolution. I
was intrigued to discover well over one hundred parallels between the teachings of the Buddha and the teachings of Jesus five hundred years later, just as I was to discover that the seven sacraments of the Christian Church were all initiation ceremonies of the ancient Egyptian Mystery Schools. What did that tell us: was Jesus or the Buddha a plagiarist? On the contrary, they were both channels of a much more ancient wisdom.
If this is the case with such central matters as the teachings of Jesus or the sacraments of the Church, then what do the levitations of Joseph and the blazing countenance of Teresa tell us? That they were specially favored by God, who was thereby putting his stamp of divine approval on them? Or rather are they not far more likely to be telling us something of
ultimate concern about the real nature of God and the true make up of the human being and of this universe in which we float? The halo has been understood as an artistic device only, and by the nineteenth century it had definitely gone out of fashion with artists who were too embarrassed to portray it any more. But we're still accustomed to think of it as a religious trademark, and in the West, of course, to consider it the very badge of medieval Christian art.
But in its origins the halo
is neither western, Christian, nor even religious, and most interestingly of all, is probably not an artistic device either. Haloes began to appear in art long before any religion with which it has been associated had ever assumed recognizable form. At the end of the Greek Dark Ages, twenty nine hundred years ago, Homer's Iliad describes a preternatural light shining around the heads of Greek heroes engaged in murderous combat at the height of pitched battle. But long before Homer, "sun discs" or rays of light appear around the heads of Ra and Hathor in Egyptian art. The Kushan Emperors of northwestern India seem to have been the first to depict themselves with haloes on their coins in the second and third centuries before Christ. And by doing that I think they intended to say far more than that God was on their side. Later the depiction of haloes becomes quite common in both Japanese and Chinese Buddhist art and eventually appeared frequently in a great variety of Hindu religious literature.
Even when the halo began to be understood in the West as some form of divine radiance that conveyed closeness to divinity, it was probably an import from the Persian Empire and made its way to Rome with the spread of the Mithraic religion. The images of the Roman Emperors, like Alexander before them, began to feature aspects redolent of divinity, including the halo. Initially this was the practice only after they had died and were now judged to have been deified, but it soon came to be used also in the depictions of living Emperors. It was only long after all of this long history, in the fourth century after Christ, that the halo began to be used by the organization that now claims the image as its own: the Christian Church. It belonged to the
movement that more and more accommodated Jesus and Christianity to the traditions, practices and symbols of the mystery religions. It is hardly surprising that within Christianity a hierarchy of haloes soon began to form. In the beginning only Christ was depicted with a halo and it was meant to represent his divine nature. In the early Christian centuries a considerable body of Christians believed that Christ was born in a state similar to every other human being and that he only acquired the state of being divine as his journey progressed. The Church, in confronting this view in what it called the Nestorian Heresy, defined as an article of its faith that Christ Jesus came into this world with a fully formed divine nature as well as a human nature. Some artistic depictions of Jesus before the Church made this pronouncement did not show him with a halo until after the time of his baptism by John, which was regarded as the most likely stage at which he assumed a divine nature. Those artworks would of course be regarded as seriously heretical by the orthodox believers.
Surface is composed of triangles.- Plato In medieval art it became customary to represent Persons of the Holy Trinity with a halo within which the figure of a cross was inscribed but God the Father was sometimes depicted with a triangular halo. Lesser mortals had to be satisfied with plain round or spherical haloes. This became the practice in the Middle Ages and later it became usual to depict only the circumference of the halo as a circular line. For individuals who were revered for their sanctity but who had not yet been formally declared saints, it was usual to depict rays of light emanating from their heads, but no actual halo was added until canonization had taken place. Sometimes in the early medieval period living people of renown were depicted with square haloes to indicate that, however illustrious they were, they were still alive. Notorious villains of this world or of the world to come, such as Judas or Satan, were depicted with black solid haloes. And finally even back in the secular days when haloes began, sometimes the entire body of the person was encased in a halo radiating beyond the physical body. Examples are found where Jesus is depicted with such a full-body halo and also a halo around his head. Where both intersected a vesica piscis was formed which had its own special significance.
By the High Renaissance period most of the major Italian painters had stopped depicting haloes altogether. Part of the reaction against the Protestant Reformation mandated that they be used in Catholic Christian art, but usually the painters tried to comply with this by placing a natural light source behind the subjects head to give the effect of a halo. By the nineteenth century haloes were definitely gone, unless one were striving to give a medieval 'flavor' to a scene. They are now found only in images of popular piety with those bleeding Jesus figures of the Mel Gibson genre. However, haloes in their origin are neither western, Christian, or even religious, and most interestingly of all, are probably not artistic devices either.
What then does the luminescence around people like Teresa of Avila and Joseph of Cupertino really tell us? It wasn't imagined; those images were included by artists because that is what was actually seen around certain individuals. But, even if it has ceased to be fashionable in mainline art, how is the luminescence of the halo to be explained and what has it to tell us? In both my book and DVD on the orb phenomenon, I point out that doing nothing but wondering
amazement at the variety of orbs pictures that can appear to us would be as if those physicians who first saw chromosomes in the blood after the invention of the microscope simply continued to look, without taking the knowledge they gained from looking to fight disease and promote health. If my contention is correct that orbs are seen by fluorescence, not by reflected light, is it possible that the different colors of fluoresced light that comes from the orbs really reveal dimensions above this physical one to which the orbs belong?

If so, then as individuals would we also exist right now in those same six planes of the electromagnetic spectrum above us which every high school text book of physics shows, since it is impossible for a lower frequency in the electromagnetic spectrum to exist without a higher one to hold it in place, right back to the source. If all those fabled and legendary beings of folklore and religious traditions really do exist, they would also presumably exist on one of those six planes above the physical that make up the whole gamut of the creation, but that would not make them superior to us, quite the contrary. So for example, if an Archangel is a being who lives on the fifth dimension or plane of reality, we would need to realize that so too do we exist there on that same dimension in another aspect of our makeup which plays its indispensable part in holding this physical aspect of us in being.
So [Allah] decreed them as seven heavens (one above the other) in two days and revealed to each heaven its orders. And We [Allah] adorned the lowest heaven with lights, and protection. Such is the decree of the Exalted; the Knowledgeable. Quran 41.12 D-Kuru/Wikemedia Commons

Hebrews 2:7, quoting Psalm 8, says that God made us "a little less than the angels" but if my hypothesis is true would we not actually be more? Perhaps the effulgence, caused by the reaching of altered states in remarkable individuals of the past, and which was made visible and immortalized in the halo, is the talisman and pledge that we do
not live in the kind of universe we thought, but in one that is frequencybased, and, even more important, one that is intensely responsive to thought?
Light dispersion conceptual waves by Kieff
Is it possible that the interaction of mind with a frequency-based universe is what opens up access to the other dimensions that make us what we are, and that make up the universe as well? And is the mechanism that produces this what causes the halo?
If so this would be the path along which our emergence into true power and ability within ourselves lies. So if originally the halo was neither western, Christian, or even religious, and was probably not an artistic device either, who would have thought that now understood in a profoundly different way, it might be the herald for us of an enormous and long-forgotten human potential, not too long after we became embarrassed to depict it any more? The word chakra comes from a Sanskrit word for “wheel” or “tuning”. This equates to the 7 centers of expression within your core frame. Like a tree, it has roots to the earth, while also touching the heavens. The cross is the intersection.

LIGHT: OUR LUMINOUS PRESENCE
In the Chandogya Upanishad (sacred texts and conveyances from Vedic period) there is a verse which illustrates to illumine the beauty, order and elegance of the universe which is within each and everyone.
“There is light that shines brighter than the earth, brighter than all the stars, brighter than the heavens and that are the light that shines in the diamond that resides in the lotus of the Heart. OM If indeed this diamond in the lotus of the heart resides in ALL, then is the human designed in the imprint of the cosmos and would we be able to observe a moment of this grand intelligence!!!!
Inspired beings, alchemists, thinkers, scientists, researchers, explorers over centuries of recorded history have sought to manifest these insights from Sages to be wholly imbued into the living fabric of life. Sri Aurobindo, Blavatsky, Tesla, Steiner, Swami Vivekananda, Vernadsky, Kirilian and more have contributed to the uplifting of the human condition. More recent another visionary bio-physicist and Dear colleague from St. Petersburg, Russia; Dr.Konstantin Korotkov, deeply inspired by all the above was guided in developing a device which can record the level and nature of light in our human bio-field and also of all matter based elements. These include water, gem stones, crystals, soil, plants (from fruits/seeds/ flowers/leaves), and essential oils.
A verse in another ancient Vedic text on Agni Yoga which conveys that “Each human thought, each mood & feeling immediately affect the emissions. These emissions in the light, colors & fires, obviously visible for sublime vision. Human auras shine and play the shades of every possible paints and coloring. Pure, fine thoughts & feelings cause corresponding colorings; dark, low desires, experiences & passions cause dark, smoky, muddy, ugly forms of low fires. In ones aura, humans bring health, pleasure & light for people that surround one or illness, grief, suffering and bleakness." OM
This deep insight led Dr.Korotkov in developing a system that can record fine detail of the human energy field. The principles that led to the development of the Electro Photon Imaging System based on Gas Discharge Visualization which is based on the deep understanding of Quantum BioPhysics, ie. Our interconnectedness to our cosmic nature. These 2 pictures (next page) convey the depth of Dr.Korotkov’s system.
The energy rising from the Earth is electrical in nature, and the energy from the cosmos is magnetic in nature. The interaction of the two creates an electromagnetic field which forms around the body as shown.
body is electrical and magnetic. The magnetic energy of the grand female vortex fuels the magnetic aspect of your physical by flowing into the Ida channel.
form the Earth is the electrical energy which flows into your Pingala channel.
electrical energy also enters the physical through the dark energy subtle systems. Mind over Matter: Secrets of human aura revealed by Russian scientists
From sacred texts it is conveyed that the seven chakras contain the radial plasmas which are the electrical fluids of the cosmos. So in essence we are beings of light as conveyed by a renowned biophysicist Dr.Fritz Albert Popp who referenced:
“We know today
that man is essentially a being of light.
And the modern
science of photobiology is presently proving this. In terms of healing the implications are immense. We now know, for example, that light can initiate, or arrest, cascade-like reactions in the cells, and that genetic cellular damage can be virtually repaired, within hours, by faint beams of light. We are still on the threshold of fully understanding the complex relationship between light and life, but we can now say, emphatically, that the function of our entire metabolism is dependent on light.” Seldom in a lifetime are we provided with an opportunity to participate in a pioneering effort that will transform human understanding of life. If we can (a) Provide a “noosphere”, scientific understanding of the dynamics of human and all biological energy systems, (b) Empower selfawareness, self-responsibility and mindfulness with the energetic forces of nature, (c) Contribute to the integral wellbeing from individual to community to nation to world, into the universe that we are spiritual beings imbued with a vibrant vital light presence, we can truly affirm that we have awakened and or directing our lives to this intent. Over the past decades Dr.Korotkov’s system, has provided insights into the fields that address human transformation and the power of intention which we know as the 5 th force or also refered to as “Noosphere.” ie. When human consciousness becomes coherent and synchronized, the behavior of random systems may change. The evidence suggests an emerging noosphere, or the unifying field of consciousness described by sages in all cultures. OM

“Living Integrally in the presence of the eternal vibration in every breath.” “OM Bhur Bhuva Svaha, OM Tat Savitur Varenyam, Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi, Dhiyo Yo Na Prachodayat. OM” Gayatri Mantra. This was the first mantra invoked in the birthing of the Vedic mind (total being).
This is an invocation to the light of pure consciousness to illumine every cell of our being to inspire, guide, mold, shape and live in the brilliance of the wisdom light that is present in the universe. AUM, the primordial sound, resides in all elements of the universe. It permeates the earth (-bhUH), water (-bhuvaH), fire (-svaH), air (-mahaH), ether (-janaH), intelligence (-tapaH) and consciousness (-satyam). We pay homage to Gayatri, the one who shines like the sun (tat savitur), the one who destroys all our attachments through her everlasting and effulgent light. Dear Goddess Gayatri, please illuminate our path towards our higher consciousness and lead us to our true purpose in life. Please shine your light (-jyotiH) in our path so we may partake of the everlasting nectar (amrita) of Brahman while chanting the primordial sound, AUM!

Whether it is possible to fix the process of separation of two substances – immortal soul and mortal body objectively, without relying on evidence of witnesses. Does it happen immediately, or the soul parts the body gradually? There are a set of questions which need demonstrative answers. Moreover, all these questions have fundamental, universal meaning, they determine, mainly, our attitude to the world and humanʟs place in it. In this book, Dr. Korotkov gives answers to these questions.

“Human Energy Field: study with GDV bioelectrography” Author: K. Korotkov. This book is dedicated to the presentation of the scientific foundations and practical applications of the Gas Discharge Visualization (GDV) technique. This technique represents a revolutionary new method for the study of biological subjects, namely biological energy fields. This research extends scientific tradition, developed in Russia in the twentieth century. The Human Energy Field carries information on physical, mental and spiritual states of a human being, and the GDV Bioelectrography technique is the first method in the world which gives an opportunity to study this information. Utilizing the latest advances in technology, such as microelectronics, computer imaging, and data mining, scientists have been able to create an entirely new class of scientific instruments that allow the practitioner to view, measure and analyze biological subjects in a manner that has never been possible before. The GDV technique has been found to have numerous highly important applications in medicine, sports, consciousness studies, material testing and other areas, discussed in this book… Measuring Energy Fields: State of the Science. Author: K. Korotkov.

Volume I in the GDV Bioelectrography series presents recent studies and applications of the Gas Discharge Visualisation (GDV) technique. Our previous books were created by a small group of associates. This volume presents a wide range of articles by authors from different countries. After seven years of development, the GDV techniques entered a new stage of “catalytic growth” with innovative methods emerging from various laboratory and clinical settings. Research by independent groups around the world demonstrates that the GDV technique provides methods for recording subtle dynamics in the energy fields of objects with various natures. GDV assessment methods are demonstrated to have a wide range of important applications in medicine, sports performance, materials testing, as well as analytic studies of human consciousness and spiritual healing.

The Fabric of the Universe
It was a full moon day of July 1985. I got up to go to my regular morning Osho Dynamic meditation at the Big Muddy Ranch in Oregon. It was still dark outside. The morning chill filled the thin desert air and penetrated deep into my bones. It was a glorious full moon with thousands of flickering stars scattered all around the dark sky. There was a heightened sense of fullness and grandeur everywhere I looked. It felt magical and surreal standing on the Earth and being surrounded by all the moons, planets, and stars aimlessly floating within the limitless universe.

I slowly made my way to Buddha Hall, f e e l i n g p hy s i c a l l y a n d m e n t a l l y exhausted with searching for enlightenment and not knowing what it is supposed to feel like. I also understood that the universe is and would always remain unknowable. We can only see what it is ready to manifest into a tangible form, but when and how this will happen can n e ve r b e k n o w n . A n d o n c e t h e manifested has fulfilled its purpose, everything would once again return back into emptiness, the void, until something new is again ready to materialize. Having found what I had been searching for over many lifetimes left me with nowhere to go and nothing more to look for. I had finally come home. The intensity of this experience faded with time, but the consciousness it evoked remained permanently ingrained deep within my cells. Having had this experience did not mean that my life was now over and I had nothing else to learn. I went on with
my life on the outside. I felt something inside me had radically changed. My inner tension of looking to attain something outside of myself had suddenly dropped. My self-imposed stress of having to achieve something was no longer there. I felt the Joy of m y a l o n e n e s s e v e n s t r o n g e r. I continued with my usual daily life of “chopping wood and carrying water from the well” as the Zen saying goes, but with a newly heightened awareness. Ten years later, quite by chance I reconnected with an ability I had as a child of being able to “read” thought forms and emotions repressed in people’s body and energy with 100% accuracy. I decided to explore this ability in the field of healing and personal development. As I began working with people, to my surprise I started “hearing” the many interconnected layers of the unconscious patterns in people’s energy.
By 1997, I had developed a completely new light-speed healing method, known as the Dalian Method TM (DM for short). Many practitioners of various other alternative healing arts started asking me to train them to do what I was doing. After careful consideration I decided against it because I saw that it would be difficult to find people who had done enough work to be able to witness and dis-identify from their own ego-mind. I needed people who could
unconditionally and without projecting their own mind, and judgments onto their clients. This challenge lead me to the creation of the self-healing version of my method, which people could use on their own and at their own pace. It was also clear that more and more people were now ready to look inside and find ways to take charge of their own healing and transformation. After s e v e ra l y e a r s o f t r e m e n d o u s l y successful experimentation, the selfhealing version of the Dalian Method (DM) was born.
The fundamental core of DM is consciousness. DM helps to unveil each person's inner consciousness in order to create a permanent transformation physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. This method helps people access and remove the repressed thought forms, emotions, and beliefs that cause energetic blocks, pain, fear and illness. It puts the power back into each person's hands and has the potential to transform millions of people into health and awakened consciousness! The recent research conducted on the selfhealing DM with Dr. Korotkovʼs GDV technology (see images in the article by Krishna Madappa above) illustrates impressive results. Just one session with the self-healing DM helped people: • Balance their right and left brain hemispheres • Decrease or eliminate physical and emotional pain
more relaxed in the body and mind" feeling “more centered, calm and a greater sense of presence," "light, almost weightless", "more grounded,” "light, relaxed & free," "calm, relaxed, hopeful, anticipatory" "peaceful, centered, calm, empty." These were attributed to the release of the thought-forms and belief patterns from the body and energy, causing the body to feel lighter, more peaceful, and relaxed. All of the participants were eager to use the Dalian Method regularly. There is no doubt in my mind that if used by thousands of people simultaneously, this evolutionary method has the power to instantaneously transform the collective pain and suffering of humanity.

Circulation of ! Light Â
itting in meditation, all at once a surge of warm energy rose up my spine to
my crown and then fell like a waterfall down the front of my body. The energy took off, rising and falling in a circle with its own momentum and caused my body to rock. I started to sweat even though the meditation hall was cool inside. The bell rang at the end of the sitting and I gathered chi in my navel into a ball of energy, a vibrant, golden pearl that sparkled like a diamond. What was this energy doing? Generating light, warmth and life-force!
Mantak Chia and Minka de Vos
Later I read about this “Circulation of the Light” in a book called “Awaken Healing Energy through the Tao” by Mantak Chia. He wrote that when people open the “Microcosmic Orbit” profound shifts would happen from within to awaken natural selfhealing. This motivated him to bring these amazing teachings of Inner Alchemy to the West about 30 years ago.
Inner Alchemy is a way to transform something that is dense and dark into something that is penetrated with the light of consciousness, transparent and golden, filled with virtues and integrity. When raw sexual energy circulates through the Orbit it moves through four pumps along the spine: the Sacrum, Adrenal, Dorsal and Cranial pumps, which pump the sexual waters upwards. These energy pumps also refine the energy from a dense state in the lower centres to a more refined state as it moves through the upper centres. In the embryo as the first cells divide the front and back channels are formed. The creative energy runs through the Orbit like a subtle breathing to facilitate the development of the fetus, so it also called “Prenatal Breathing”. The Microcosmic Orbit links up the Governing Vessel in the back, which governs Yang Chi in the body, and the Conception Vessel in the front, which is a source of Yin energy. The Conception Vessel ends in the tongue and the Governing Vessel ends in the palate, so putting the tongue on the roof of the mouth acts like a circuit breaker to link the flow together.
ow does the Microcosmic Orbit generate light? If you put an electric wire between a positive and negative pole you can generate electricity. Our negative charged pole is in the perineum, called the Hui Yin or Meeting of Yin and our positive charged pole is in the crown, called “Bai Hui or Meeting of a Thousand Places.
when you circulate energy between these two poles you are a generator of free energy!
The whirling action pulls in an abundance
of energy from the Heavens, Earth and Human plane around us. Your centre of gravity below your navel is like the magnetic core of the earth. As the moon orbits around the earth, so the orbit describes the phases of the moon. Imagine a ball of energy at the base of the spine as a new moon, which rises to crown as the full moon, its most yang phase. There are a few ways to circulate the chi in the Orbit: up the front and down the back, the Water Cycle, and up the back and down the front, the Fire Cycle. The Water Cycle has the effect of opening our psychic abilities and relaxing the nerves down the spine. The Fire Cycle helps us to awaken heightened awareness and grow our initiative in life. It has the benefit of containing and protecting our energy field as we go out into the world. The direction of the cycles can vary at different times of our life. For example, in the womb the flow of the fire cycle activates our growth, in childhood the flow of the water cycle helps to develop our imagination, in adulthood the flow of the fire cycle develops our manifestation power and in elders the flow of the water cycle enhances selfreflection and spiritual growth. The Orbit weaves together and integrates the three Tan Tiens: head, chest and lower abdomen, which correspond to the zones of thinking, feeling and willing. It distributes chi to all the chakras and acupuncture meridians and nourishes the growth of our soul and spirit. It builds the energetic foundation for spiritual development.
Often people experience heat or shaking as the circulating energy breaks up resistance and blockages in the physical and subtle bodies. The heat is caused by the friction as it scrubs through the channels. When this energy is awakened it wants to heal and open the body. It has incredible wisdom, which can do amazing work when you trust and let in happen This a safe way of cultivating “Kundalini” or primordial energy as it embraces both the ascension and expansion of consciousness and the incarnating and embodiment of the refined energy to grow and evolve all parts of ourselves. Kundalini, the power of evolution, once awakened, is a profound catalyst for renewal on all levels, physical, emotional, and spiritual. The conscious circulation of chi in this way plays an important role in longevity. As one ages the energy tends to polarize, cold sinking and heat rising. Excess heat rising can lead to mental agitation and heart conditions and excess coldness sinking can lead to weaker digestive fire and stiff joints, for example. By integrating hot and cold tendencies the “Warm Current Meditation” makes us feel more balanced and youthful. This circulation plays an essential role in cultivating sexual energy and is central in the practice of Tao Tantra. When a couple is conscious of exchanging energy during lovemaking they can weave their Microcosmic Orbits together joining at the heart, genitals or Third Eye. Their light energy generates love so they can really “make love”, “make joy”, “make courage” and grow limitless potential of creativity, wisdom, and bliss. I have been practicing and teaching Taoist Inner Alchemy for over 25 years and we close every practice session with circulating the Microcosmic Orbit. The individual or the group feels calm, centred and grounded.
The practice embodies the realization that we
are interconnected to all life, a Microcosm of the whole universe. Through the practice of generating light. love and life-force we expand our potential to heal ourselves and evolve the world.

Light Travelers Within these vortexes of light, we become light travelers. There is the NOW from which we create the next moment. If we stay focused only on past events, we stay frozen in that time.
As light beings we are projectors, radiating our light, or essence. At the
center of any vortex is where the calm is in the storm, and from this stillness one can become the observer. Nassim Haramein would say you are the ... “Event Horizon”.
Excerpt for the “InsideOUT” by Karen Elkins
The Middle Point of Sacred Geometry Yantra by Ivan Rados
The Transcendental Power Of The Middle Point There is nothing else than now. Space and time are two faces of the same reality. The present moment of now is not part of the ordinary ‘mind’ time. We are all told that time has three aspects, three tenses: past, present and future. Past and future are a part of time, two dimensional realities in space. Past and future belong to the mind; it is finite reality, while the present moment is the consciousness, the infinite moment of now. Past and future belong to the world of relative circumstances, the world of change. Between the two, the third exists expressing itself as beyond, the transcendental. Now is the infinite, essential, the heart of eternity. There is nothing to existence than this life in the moment now. When time and space are left behind, you are in transcendental. In transcendental, the space is spaceless and time is timeless; it is not affected by the time change, not affected by the tension between past and future, nor with objects projected in space.
‘spaceless space’ is life as infinite meditative-love. If you are afraid of life, you become an artificial ticking clock. You become trapped in the mind space of causes and consequences; you become stuck in past and future. Then, you are in the space of the mind filled with objects, and every object is objecting your being. With no-mind, you are simply left as emptiness, as an inner infinite ‘spaceless space’, boundless wholeness. “Spaceless Space’ is just a metaphor, the same as ‘going inside’. What is ingoing? It is not going outside in space and time, and not going with your mind thoughts inside. There is no space inside where you can go and explore - no ticking clock moving. Inside is limitless. Stop going out or in, and you are automatically in ‘spaceless space’, ‘timeless time’, you are here and now. When time and space are both immaterial, you will be touched by truth - the transcendent immortal middle point.
The Power Of Perfection From Moment To Moment The existence is wholeness in perfect One Self. Only perfection comes out of perfection. Perfection is not static; it goes growing infinitely, from perfection to more perfection, from one moment to the same one moment. In perfection, imperfection is impossible. Existence is perfect in every moment of now, always moving in the moment and never arriving, because there are no destinations. Logic cannot comprehend these statements; it cannot visualize it, describe it, or reach it. Existence is life of the moment to the moment in perfection. Existence is Right Now in the Middle Point. This moment is infinite, and because of this moment, everything IS. This moment is the moment of transformation and perfection.
The Experience Of The Infinite Energy Of Oneness With the realization of awareness through the witnessing All That Is, there is the experience of, “Everything around is permeated with the emanation of this divine energy”. This emanation is dispassion, equality of vision, and knowingness that the same flame burns in every aspect and every Being-Consciousness in the existence. Awareness is the pure form of compassion, because it is coming from the ultimate source and it is the act or an instance of emanating from the moment of now.
Re-Actualization Of The Middle Point. We are all searching for ‘home’ and think it can be found in external dwellings. Yet our real home lies within.
We won’t discover it on the outside.
Only those who
accept and re-actualize One Self will find ‘home’. The definition of our real home is ‘that which is Infinity’.
Consciousness is Infinity – everything else is a temporary,
holographic illusion. We are separated by parts. Beyond the parts, we are One with One Self, with the Whole. Everything and everyone is an aspect of the same phenomenon, the One Consciousness. Body/Soul/Consciousness cannot be divided. It is One.
The body affects the Consciousness, and the Consciousness affects the
body – the Soul acts as a bridge.
We are all searching for ‘home’ and think it can be found in external dwellings. Yet our real home lies within.
The body is the dimension that extends outwards, the Consciousness is the dimension that extends inwards, and the Soul is the movement. There is only Oneness. Although matter is perceived as external reality through the senses, and non-matter is perceived as reality from within the inner senses, both are acting in unison to manifest Oneness You have entered this physical world many times before. It is your decision to enter life through the womb. It is also your decision to exit life. The entrance and exit are not different; they come from the same point. Birth is the entrance into the world from no-thing-ness; death is the exit from the world back into no-thing-ness. Life lies between these two no-thing-nesses.
Birth and death are the same energy.
However, we believe that death is negative and life is positive. Entrances and exits are constantly being created. Every moment is dying as the next moment is being born.
Every moment is leading into the next.
It is like a
procession; there is a flow. Right now is here, and here is right now. You are dying in this moment and being reborn into the same moment.
It is a continuous and
infinite experience. Life can be only the expression of that experience. Once you enter, you cannot be “out of your being”. This is what the mind fears the most, the entrance to your being. It is not a space where you can come and go. It is your very existential nature. You are here to learn how to be, now. ARE YOU ready to take that “impossible” step, and enter ‘what is.’ IN - takes only one step through the entrance. That’s it. You will then be united, forever. You have to totally surrender and trust, otherwise that step cannot occur. You can only re-actualize that which has always been within One Self. It is a process of absolute aloneness. There is nothing to see, no knowledge to learn, no ripples or vibrations. It is only the present moment, now. It is your Infinite Consciousness unobstructed in an infinite flow right now, in infinite directions from here. This is rerealization, re-actualization of the middle point. "Being The Middle Point" by Ivan Rados 2011
How To Meditate With A
Yantra is a tool for self-realization. Every single yantra symbolizes the ultimate transcendence of journeying itself. Every yantra is a portal to re-realization, reactualization of the middle point. Allow yourself to relax in a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed and open yourself to the infinite. Empty your mind of all content, preconceived ideas, questions and thoughts. One caution: don’t approach the yantra seriously. Relax, be playful, free of seriousness. Here are five keys I have found helpful for participating in yantra meditation: 1 - Position the yantra so its center is at eye level and a comfortable distance away from you. Sit with your spine straight. If this isn’t possible, find a comfortable position in which you can remain alert. Breathe in and out slowly until your breath flows naturally. Begin with your eyes open, simply gazing at the yantra. It’s necessary to look only at the center of the sacred geometry yantra, focusing on the dot in the middle of the symbol, trying not to blink or to blink as little as possible. Gaze at the center for 15 minutes. The key is to maintain receptive, in an alert frame of mind, without drawing any conclusions, and to be free of concepts or thoughts. We simply gaze at the center with innocent, wonder-filled eyes. When we focus solely on the dot at the center of the yantra, and not pay attention to anything outside of this, our awareness deepens instead of flying off in different directions. The more we gaze, the more we tend to feel weightless and unburdened. As you look at the center of the image, simultaneously observe the “witness” in you that is seeing you seeing the sacred geometry yantra. As you watch, you may find thoughts arising. We cannot control the mind and its thoughts; we can only let go of our thoughts. Allow any thoughts that arise to simply come and go without attaching your awareness to them. By not becoming attached, you will be able to enter into relaxation. You don’t have to create this relaxed state; it will just come on its own. As you feel yourself gathering consciousness, allow yourself to flow with the momentum of this consciousness. In doing so, you will first experience an awakening to the forms and shapes around you. Secondly, you will experience an awareness of your body. Thirdly, you will experience an inner awakening to your thoughts and emotions. Finally, you will experience the one who is experiencing. In other words, you will become aware of your awareness. You will find yourself leaving behind all your experiences and merging with the infinite consciousness of your One Self.
2 - When your awareness begins to shift inward, close your eyes. Now watch the yantra imprinted in your mind’s eye, allowing it to gradually guide you from within. As the imprint absorbs your awareness, you won’t be able to tell whether the symbol is in you or whether you are within the symbol. Watch with relaxed attentiveness and alertness. Any thoughts that arise will dissolve. As this happens, you will become aware of your inner perceptions of reality, but don’t try to hold onto these perceptions. It’s important not to evaluate what comes up, but just to allow. The yantras are experiential and require no analysis. They don’t tell us the truth but are pointers towards truth. Truth is an experience, not a belief—and the experience always takes place in the now. All that’s required is for us to remain empty and receptive. The truth that lies within us can then surface, because our own being, which is part of infinite consciousness, is the truth. With our eyes still closed, we will continue to see colors because they are easier to experience than forms. Seeing forms is a more complicated process of perception and the most abstract. What we perceive as a form is actually light. However, pure light is too intense for us, so it has to be separated into colors. The colors and forms of the sacred geometry images reflect something essential inside us. The way we perceive the colors is subjective because colors are associated with emotion and linked with the mind. Consequently, everyone associates different emotional and subjective values with different colors. Just as a prism divides white light into separate colors, the mind divides colors into emotional, mental, and bodily aspects through its patterned reactions and memory, never allowing us to see the whole. During the yantra meditation, this heals. Slowly, the yantra colors, shapes, and forms we perceive with our inner eye disappear, and we enter into a state of detached awareness which there is nothing to see and nothing to search for, just the bliss of infinite consciousness to be enjoyed.
3 - In watchfulness, there is no commentary, evaluation, or judgment, just total relaxation. In this relaxed mode, watch the watcher and witness the witnessing. By watching the watcher, the watcher expands and becomes divine. You will experience a divine silence slowly descending upon you. Do nothing, and you will find yourself participating in pure consciousness without the mind defining it. In other words, you will feel no need to tell yourself such things as “this is the experience I have been seeking” or “this is what people mean when they talk about enlightenment.”
4 - Forget about looking for results as you meditate. When we are in this meditative process, not a single vibration moves into the future. In this conscious state, causes and consequences aren’t two separate things—in the same way that the chicken and the egg aren’t separate realities, but the egg is the chicken and the chicken is the egg. Meditation brings us to a place of sensitivity wherein we experience a great interconnectedness with All That Is. This sensitivity generates a loving intimacy with everything we see, smell, touch, taste, hear, and intuit. Be aware, and you will be sensitive to the whole of reality. Be sensitive, and you will be aware of everything. 5 - Meditation doesn’t bring joy, but joy comes when we are meditative. If we aren’t joyful, it’s because we aren’t in a meditative state, since joy is our intrinsic nature. It’s possible to learn meditation, but it’s impossible to learn joy: it just is. To be joyous requires a drastic shift in our perception of reality and a drastic change in our way of life. When this occurs, we are born again and sensitivity pours innocently from our “empty” heart. This is an experience that isn’t either physical or psychological but transcends both. This is authentic spirituality. When you are ready, you may wish to take a deep breath, begin to move your fingers and toes, open your eyes, and become aware of your surroundings once again. Sacred Geometry is crystallization of One Consciousness, is the blueprint of all creation. Ivan Rados, Create Yourself
We and Mother Earth were both formed from the one Light Source and crystalized into form. Crystals are used as transmitters and they keep time and store information. Mother Earth is 90% crystal at its crust. As we come together as one song we can resonate a common electromagnetic field. This field acts like one big wave and one massive subatomic particle. Mother Earth feels our every vibration.
We and Mother Earth are Both Matter, Charged and Alive.
We can work as a collective consciousness through organizations like the Global Coherence Initiative (GCI). We can be of one mind and of one heart for a conscious purpose. GCI connects, educates, monitors and guides us for a coherent, heart based and planetary vibration.

The eminent British historian Arnold Toynbee talked about civilizations as having life cycles. In an individual life cycle, something begins, develops, matures, and declines. Toynbee said that a newly forming civilization is like a child who is experiencing and trying new things. This would be a civilization’s period of early development. Next, a civilization begins to adopt the beliefs that work for it, and once it holds on to those beliefs, it enters a period of rigidity. This is akin to the child doing all the experimental stuff but then coming up against the wall of a parent saying “This is the way it is” and internalizing that message.
But there’s a problem with this rigidity: The universe is continuously and dynamically changing. So trying to hold on to a belief leads to challenges that are the result of not being flexible enough to bend with the currents of change. What
is rigid begins to decline.
Our particular cycle is unique, however, because we’re not just ending a civilization, we’re also ending a complete stage of evolution. We also have the potential to jump into Civilizations have always come and gone.
another stage of evolution, but I must emphasize that we have the potential. We cannot tell the outcome. We may or may not make it, and we must really own that. This doesn’t mean that we should stop trying to see how we might be able to survive but that we should be all the more active in trying to do so.
A Failure of Belief In a brief review of the timeline of civilizations, we begin with the peoples who lived in harmony with the earth and understood the nature of the planet as both material and spiritual. This is the belief system of animism, which, for example, the Native American Indians, the Druids in England, and the Aborigines in Australia share. When animism faded, polytheism emerged.
The ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans created cultures based on the existence of many gods. Monotheism then replaced polytheism, and Judeo-Christian monotheism prevailed for some time until Charles Darwin introduced a scientific understanding of the nature of life. We’re still living with that belief system, scientific materialism, which views matter as the essence of the universe. Scientific materialism, however, is on its way out, and its civilization is presently ending. The new civilization that is emerging is not just a new civilization but a complete jump in evolution, to something far different than has yet existed on this planet.
A culture’s character is determined by its answers to the perennial questions:
are we here? How did we get here? How do we make the best of being here?
Throughout history, different civilizations have had
different answers to these questions. Whenever the answers changed, culture also changed to accommodate the new answers. We call the belief system in these answers the basal paradigm of a civilization, its fundamental ideas. Whoever provides the answers for a civilization also becomes the provider of all other truths for that civilization. So, as the answers change, the truths change, and people’s belief in who bears the truth changes, changing the character of cultures over time.
With animism, the earliest peoples recognized the physical world and an influential invisible world, and a good example is the Native American belief system. How did they answer the perennial questions? We come from Mother Earth and Father Sky. Why are we here? We’re here to tend the garden and to keep harmony in it. How do we make the best of it? We learn to live in balance with nature. For thousands of years, this is the way life was lived. The Native American belief that we come from Father Sky and Mother Earth is actually a scientific reality. We got here because the inorganic material, the chemistry of Mother Earth, interacted with the sunlight from Father Sky and beget the organic chemistry of living systems.
Beliefs changed, however, at about 4000 bce, when the era of polytheism began. Polytheism took the spirit out of matter, whether it was people, animals, or raindrops. Spirit was still acknowledged, but it was coalesced into gods who were viewed as separate
Although the polytheists didn’t bother too much about why we are here, they did arrive at an understanding about making the best of existence: Don’t anger the gods. That was wonderful advice for people who believed the gods could shapeshift. You didn’t know if the person sitting next to you was a god or not, so everybody had to be careful not to anger the gods disguised among them. It was best to live in honor and harmony with everyone.
Four thousand years later, Judeo-Christian monotheism took hold and moved people even deeper into the spiritual realm, now regarded as the beautiful realm, the realm of perfection. Monotheists took spirit off of the planet and put it somewhere “up there.” They also gave people commandments for getting there. The first rule was not to get caught in the trap of matter – in other words, by enjoying this physical life, which is removed from spirit up there. The Judeo-Christian devaluation of matter and the physical plane, however, is reverse biology. Evolutionary biology says that when you do something good for the biological system, it feels good, and when you do something bad for the system, it feels bad. But Judaism and Christianity taught people to avoid getting caught in anything physical or material that feels good. Anything that felt bad became a sign that you were in the right place.
To the question of how got here in the first place, monotheists answered, by Divine intervention. God put the spirit of life into us. Why are we here? To live out plays of morality from which we can learn how to get off this planet with a ticket to go up there. How
do we make the best of life on earth?
the laws of The Bible. If you need guidance on the laws, turn to the priests, who are connected to the source. Basically what happened, though, is that the concept of infallible knowledge, of absolute knowledge, meant absolute power, and that power corrupted the church, which led people to turn away from its doctrines.
At this point the Protestants came in with a different idea: Material possessions aren’t damned but a sign that you are in favor with God. That’s when civilization moved back toward the material realm, although this didn’t change things much because many of the same answers still applied, only with a different leadership.
Civilization changed again during the Reformation when the church was challenged by several entities, including science, and during the Age of Enlightenment, which offered a new belief system, deism. French philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau talked about a utopian world and the potential of living on this planet in a harmonious way. His ideas were based on his studies of the culture of American Indians. During the Age of Enlightenment, people honored the idea of the noble savage, of a man free to be on the land and to create what he could from his own endeavors. The founding fathers of the United States were deists, and the founding of the United States represented a way to live learned from the American Indians, who had an American “united states” for hundreds of years that they called the Iroquois Nation. The rules of the Iroquois Nation informed the writing of the U.S. Constitution. The first sentence of the Declaration of Independence states that the country is founded on the “Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God” – not Christianity. Like the American Indians, the founding fathers saw God and nature as one and the same. All of them were scientists in the sense that they understood that if you study nature, you know more about God.
But that glorious moment of time was fleeting, and it didn’t change the basal paradigm. There was no new answer yet for the perennial question of how we got here. That showed up a hundred years later when Charles Darwin presented his theory of evolution, and a new civilization began. Science now had a valid understanding of how we got here, which many people, who were raising animals at the time, accepted based on their own observations. They saw that indeed the parents’ traits were passed on to their offspring and that every now and then you get a “weirdo” and that weirdo can create something different. When Darwin said that we got here through accidents of evolution – a change of genetics creating weird organisms that followed on their own path and together led to all the species – that made more sense to people than the story of Genesis. Within ten years of 1859, civilization changed, and scientific materialism emerged. It had new answers for the perennial questions. How did we get here? Through random mutations. Why are we here? We are accidental tourists on the planet. How do we make the best of it? We are living in a struggle for existence that is based on the survival of the fittest. This is a key issue because it says we must go out there and work like crazy because if we don’t, somebody else will beat us and kill us in the process.
The problem with scientific materialism is that it offers an end but no means. It’s the law of the jungle. The means to survival are any way you can get there. You can use your brain and be Einstein or you can use an Uzi and be a brute. Either means can make you a leader. It’s a civilization based on competition, not morality. This is the environment we live in right now. Newtonian physics also failed to address the invisible realm that religion talks about; one doesn’t need the spiritual realm to understand the material realm. As a result, people in this culture accumulate as much material as they possibly can to beat everybody else in the race for survival. Die with the most toys, and you win the game. And the consequences? We have decimated the planet.
As Below, So Above Something else to consider here is that all the different sciences are connected to each other in building blocks that cement their belief systems. The foundation of all science is mathematics. On top of that is physics; you can’t have physics without mathematics. Physics leads to an understanding of chemistry, and chemistry to an understanding of biology. When you understand biology, you can get into psychology. These are the building blocks of our belief system, and it is predicated on Newtonian physics, which says that matter is primal. So we’re living in a world where the prize is a Humvee! This whole belief system is changing, however. It began to change when it went a little deeper. In 1953, the concept of a “potential” gene became real when scientists identified DNA. I remember the headline in the paper: “Secret of Life Discovered.” A chemical – well, what do you expect in a chemical, material world? We bought into the gene story and determined there’s one last thing we must do: the Human Genome Project. But between 1953 and 2001, while the Human Genome Project was under way, people started pulling away from the conventional medical profession. It wasn’t fully working for them, and they began to explore alternative methods. We’ve learned that 50 percent or more of the population seek an alternative, complementary, or integrative medicine doctor over a conventional doctor. People have lost belief in the system. And
then the Human Genome Project pulled the rug out. It was supposed to verify the model that genes create life and to show us
the more than 150,000 genes involved, but the project finished with only 23,000 genes. Something was amiss. So the reality is that at this very time there is an upheaval. People are looking for new answers, and what we are discovering reveals something totally different about life. For example, a biology predicated on Newtonian physics, which is mechanical and physical, looks to something physical – that is, chemicals and drugs – to understand disease and healing. But a new scientific reality, quantum physics, says that everything is made out of energy. It is primal to matter and shapes matter. Another myth of material science is that genes control biology, making us victims of our heredity. The new science of epigenetics, however, says that genes do not control our life; our perceptions, emotions, beliefs, and attitudes actually rewrite our genetic code. Through our perceptions, we can modify every gene in our body and create thirty thousand variations from every gene just by the way we respond to life.
In short, we are leaving behind a reality of victimization (by our genes) and moving into the reality that our mind – our consciousness, the immaterial realm – influences our experience and potential.
Another myth: Survival of the fittest. Nature doesn’t give a damn about the fittest. You can tell Mother Nature about Einstein, Da Vinci, and Mozart, but Mother Nature will say, “That’s nice, but the rest of your species are destroying the planet, so I don’t care if some of you were nice.” The new theory of evolution is based on cooperation and community, not Darwinian individualism. Our erroneous theories and belief systems have us killing one another and robbing the earth, when it turns out that according to the new science, such competitive, survivalist behavior is precipitating catastrophe. We haven’t understood the nature of community. The last myth we have to reckon with is evolution as a random process. We didn’t get here by accident. Fractal geometry, a mathematical understanding of the universe, is revealing the truth of the spiritual maxim “as above, so below.” Fractal geometry demonstrates the scientific nature of that belief system, showing that images repeat themselves throughout life.
Back to the Beginning The beliefs we have been living by are wrong. Fractal mathematics says: There is a pattern in the world, and there is a pattern to your evolution. Quantum physics says: Don’t focus on the material, focus on the immaterial realm. Energy is primal. The rule is that if a science on the lower part of the building changes its belief system, every science above that building block must incorporate it. Biology and psychology have not adopted the new understandings of mathematics and physics; they are out of scientific context and no longer scientific. Quantum biology, however, a new science, examines how energy affects biology, and consciousness is that energy. As for psychology, a material psychology based on chemistry and drugs needs to be replaced by energy psychology. We heal ourselves with our thoughts, our mind, our consciousness, which are more powerful than chemistry. It’s the invisible, immaterial realm that’s powerful. Fractal Art by Dan Wills
Galileo said, “Mathematics is the language with which God has written the universe.” Our civilization is changing to align with new holistic beliefs. In holism we again recognize Mother Earth and Father Sky as our creators, but we also understand that we got here through adaptive mutation to fit into the garden. Our purpose here is to tend this garden and to acquire awareness because that’s our part in evolution. And to make the best of our existence, we live in balance with nature, evolving a technology that allows us to live on this planet with the smallest possible footprint.
What we’re beginning to learn is that we are cells in a larger organism. At this moment – just like what’s happening in the bodies of many people on this planet – the earth is experiencing autoimmune disease, where the cells in the body are killing each other, and if we don’t learn fast enough, we are not going to make it. Those of us looking for new answers are the future of a new evolution. We are experimenting and investigating how we might create a better life. The only way out is an evolution, and an evolution means undoing the previous structure. So don’t be afraid of the current structure falling apart; it’s a necessary step to get us to the next level. Don’t go into the future with fear but with the promise and reality of fractal geometry. We are returning to the original condition of wedding spirit with matter, the immaterial and material planes, and we will live in this garden with peace and harmony.

Deep Truth Hope on the Horizon by Gregg Braden
Who are we?… A revolution in the way we think of ourselves is sweeping the world. It’s forcing us to rewrite the story of our origins, our past, how long we’ve been here, and where we’re going. Even though the revolution began in the early 20th century, it has gone unnoticed by average people going about their daily routines—that is, unless they’re among the group of scientists who have dedicated their lives to understanding how life and the universe work.
For the archaeologists struggling to fit the discovery of advanced ice age civilizations into the traditional timeline of history, for example, and the biologists publishing more than 400 peer-reviewed studies showing that nature is based upon cooperation rather than “survival of the fittest,” the revolution in thinking feels like a major-magnitude earthquake. It registers “off the scale” of new ideas as it levels some of the most cherished beliefs of conventional science. In its wake is left a wide swath of outdated teachings, demanding the reevaluation of longheld traditions and destroying the legacy of entire careers.
Discoveries have shown that many of the
“facts” we’ve trusted for centuries to explain the universe and our role in it are flawed. scientific
An obsolete paradigm of the universe and our relationship to it was based upon a series of scientific assumptions— false assumptions—that can no longer be taught as fact
in light of new evidence.
these include the following:
• False Assumption 1: Civilization is approximately 5,000 to 5,500 years old. • False Assumption 2: Nature is based upon “survival of the fittest.” • False Assumption 3: Random events of evolution explain human origins.
• False Assumption 4: Consciousness is separate from our physical world. • False Assumption 5: The space between things is empty.
When we think about everyday life—the way we care for ourselves and our families, how we solve our problems, the choices we make—we find that much of what we accept as common knowledge is rooted in the core beliefs of these false assumptions, which are holdovers of an outdated science that began 300 years ago. It may be no coincidence that during this same period of time, the world has found itself facing the greatest crises of war, suffering, and disease in recorded history. These ideas of our sterile-sounding chemical origins, of our relatively recent arrival on Earth, and of our separateness from nature have led us to believe that we’re little more than specks of dust in the universe and a biological sidebar in the overall scheme of life. Is it any wonder that we often feel powerless to help our loved ones and ourselves when we face life’s great crises? Is it any wonder that we often feel just as helpless when we see our world changing so fast that it has been described as “falling apart at the seams”? At first blush there seems to be no reason for us to think any differently, to believe we have any control over ourselves or events. After all, there’s nothing in our traditional textbooks or traditional way of seeing the world that allows for anything else… That is, however, until we take another look at the new discoveries of the last years of the 20th century. Although the results of paradigm-shattering research have been published in leading technical journals, they’re often shared in the complex language of science, masking the power of their meaning from a nonscientific person.
nontechnical people don’t feel the impact of the new discoveries because they’re being left out of the conversation.
And that’s where our revolution comes in.
Do you ever question how we can possibly know what to choose—what policies to enact, what laws to pass—to help build a sustainable economy and bridge the issues that are tearing the fabric of our relationships and society? In his new book, Deep Truth, New York Times best-selling author Gregg Braden shares new discoveries that change the way we think about everything from our personal relationships to civilization itself. “When the facts become clear, our choices become obvious.”

“Meters only measure wasted energy…There are no meters to measure this radiant current. When you catch it, it has the power of the universe and beyond.” -
Electronics technician John Bedini
VORTEX & MAGNETIC SPIN CREATE NEW ENERGY ‘WIN’
New energy inventions involving vortex power, resonance and magnetic spin are coming out of the closet as we head into 2012. In some inventions, modern electronics combine with ancient knowledge of a universal background – a non-material primal energy underlying the so-called vacuum of space -- to create devices that tap into the abundance of clean energy. Experts say there’s still a lot to learn about magnetism. Through 30 years of following news about magnetic motor/ generator breakthroughs, I’ve been reminded that advances to that knowledge are important to all of us because electricity is generated when changing magnetic fields and conducting wires cross paths. One leading American inventor in the field, John Bedini, has studied and experimented with advanced magnetics for more than 40 years and has made various revolutionary working prototypes of motors. Interviews with theorist Thomas Bearden and demonstrations by Bedini in a series of DVDs titled Energy From the Vacuum (http://www.energyfromthevacuum.com/) indicate that his work goes beyond just a more efficient electric motor. “Instead we are seeing a new system of
power generation, that can supply a limitless amount of pollution-free energy.”
The end result of his unusual battery-charging systems is that the Bedini method captures and makes available far more energy than each prototype requires to keep itself running. In contrast, when conventional motors consume electricity supplied by an external source to turn a shaft, they spew out heat as a useless byproduct. That heat in itself shows conventional motors are inefficient compared to the Bedini approach. Starting with his childhood fascination with science and his early hobby of grinding up special rocks and building transistors, John Bedini’s mission was evident at a young age. In his adult years he has done meticulous work building precision electronics products, and in his spare time starting in 1960 he built over a hundred working models of non-conventional devices. His long-time associate Bearden says Bedini had an interesting background in electronics even before he became known for his amplifier circuit designs. U.S. Army Signal Corps officials had given Bedini special assignments to do with high security and interception of communications. Bedini shares technical insights in an online forum and more recently in conferences. In this issue of Science to Sage, Michael Hey’s photos of an energy converter that looks like a ferris wheel were shot during the 2010 conference in Idaho in which Bedini explained the rotating wheel’s mysteries. If you’re a technically-inclined person willing to learn new energy science and you missed that conference, you can sign up (link to http://www.energeticforum.com/conference/) for a conference in June or July 2012. This is being organized by Bedini and Peter Lindemann, and will be near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. It will be limited to 150 participants and already has 170 inquiries.

We’re needed to spread the word As a journalist for decades I’ve attended dozens of New Energy conferences around the world to learn from and interview the scientists, engineers and inventors. They are involved with breakthroughs called New Energy technology, non-conventional or advanced energy converters, or, less accurately, “free energy.” My interest is in the big picture of humankind’s prospects. You are welcome to jump into the New Energy scene yourself, to see where you can contribute to its success. Educators, students and business people also gather at those international conferences to listen in on the technical talk and sort out the personalities behind the discoveries. For an introduction, our book Breakthrough Power (www.breakthroughpower.net) looks into the challenges faced by inventors in this field, the rich variety of their revolutionary energy inventions and how the public can help. To free the energy will take more than the scientific discoveries, many of which have already been made. It will require an informed public, determined to see the breakthrough inventions made available to help restore
(www.thrivemovement.com) is spreading the word. It courageously acknowledges the reality of free energy inventions as well as darker realities, and wraps up with a vision of a rejuvenated world with a more responsible human society and how to get there.
Modern science and ancient knowledge What do the vortex and spin – theme topics this month -- have to do with a clean-energy future? The answer isn’t in school textbooks yet, although in science class you learn that atoms spin endlessly and subatomic particles do their own perpetual-motion dance. And your head spins thinking about particle physics and quantum field theories of “spinor fields.” Russian physicists use the term “torsion fields” to describe something that could also be called a rotating magnetic wave.
Bottom line: some New Energy researchers claim that a super-fast vortexian motion of air, water, plasma or electromagnetic fields can suck up some of the vast background energy of the universe and coax it into energy-converting devices and systems. The pulled-in energy can then be changed into useable electric power. At that point it can finally be detected by engineers’ measuring instruments. Like fish swimming in the ocean but unaware of what water is, we are immersed in a sea of energy but don’t notice it as long as our systems are in equilibrium with it. When experimenters create an effect that disturbs that balance, it’s called broken symmetry. Sharp electromagnetic pulses spiked into John Bedini’s unusual batterycharging process create an important effect. The short-duration, quick cutoff pulsing seems to be the action that draws in extra energy from the so-called vacuum of space. Bedini found a place to convert that energy into useable electricity – in ordinary lead-acid batteries. After that conversion, engineers’ instruments can finally detect and measure the excess power -- in the total system. Over-unity, or putting out more electricity than the operator put into a system, would violate the Law of Conservation of Energy, critics argue. In reply, Bearden explains that by tapping into the previouslyunrecognized energy from surrounding space, an over-unity device operates within an open system – open to the universe.
Half a century ago, Nobel prize-winning particle physicists discovered that an electrical system’s symmetry with the active vacuum can be broken, so a system could be powered by vacuum energy. However, conventional electrical engineers still design power systems with morethan-a-century-old electromagnetic theory which hasn’t been changed. Their theory doesn’t include extracting and using electrical energy from the active vacuum. As a result, standard electrical systems are designed as equilibrium systems-- giving right back to the vacuum any energy they receive from it. Additional energy input is needed to cover losses in the system.
Bedini’s website says an open system can re-order itself. It can selfoscillate or self-rotate. It can output more energy than the operator inputs, because the environment furnishes extra energy. Like the windmill, it can power itself and its load simultaneously. Bedini is one of today’s pioneers who combine insights from the past and technical advances of today to build a knowledge base for our energy future. He learned partly from studying the legacies of Nikola Tesla, Schauberger, Walter Russell and other past visionaries. Edward Leedskalnin for instance used mysterious technologies to build his Coral Castle in Florida from 1923 to 1951, and seemed to possess advanced knowledge such as the importance of direction of spin at the atomic level.
Controlling magnetic spin Bedini also learned from the late Howard Johnson, an academic scientist who in his private research dug deeply into the mysteries of magnetism. Long before physicists gave the name “spintronics” to the study of how to control and flip magnetic fields, Johnson was spin-flipping. In Johnson’s book The Secret World of Magnets (www.cherniere.org), the introduction says only about half of 200 or more distinct magnetic effects are understood, so there’s plenty yet to be learned. When magnetism is understood more completely, we’ll be more likely to have “free energy” converters to power our homes and greenhouses. Empowerment for the ordinary person may come with do-it-yourself kits or instructions for magnetic motor/generators that a garage mechanic can build. Beware of anonymous online promises though, and remember that Howard Johnson himself didn’t build any working generator that could run household appliances. Instead his successors are carrying that torch.
In his experiments however, Johnson did pioneering work in mapping magnetic fields. He found a way to increase spin-intensity and magnetic thrust and, by squeezing magnetic fields, to accelerate mass on a level track. He did advance the knowledge of how to build a motor that doesn’t destroy its energy source. John Bedini is furthering the work. Their colleague Tom Bearden finds it humorous that a conventional electromagnetics teacher criticizes free energy researchers as a "bunch of perpetual-motion nuts," at the same time assuming that every electrical charge in the universe freely creates energy out of nothing -- like an impossible perpetual motion machine. “It would be nice if (professors in) electrical engineering departments would walk across the campus to the particle physics departments and find out just what broken symmetry means…” Bearden adds. “Suddenly they would find out what actually powers every electromagnetic circuit and system, and that the energy… comes from the seething vacuum via the asymmetry of the source charge or dipole.” Meanwhile on the little-known frontiers of science, much progress is being made toward understanding the energetic vacuum of space and how to work with nature to accomplish energy freedom. For lack of funding to develop prototypes into products, many revolutionary energy inventions remained too long in the crude “proof-of-concept” stage. Funding is now flowing, at least for certain working inventions that have patent protection. Co-operation and communication among Earth’s citizens are keys to getting small scale new energy inventions perfected and into the right hands – the hands of people who will use energy abundance to benefit all living beings. The Grand Scientific Musical Theatre
paints a surprising
and uplifting picture of change in store for the years beyond 2012. This is a story about Gabe, the singer in a myth-rock band, who has a series of shocking musical visions in which he is visited by a host of neo-mythological archetypes. As he journeys through the theatre of his own mind, Gabe remembers the forbidden knowledge of the ancients and, in so doing, discovers he is one in a long line of solar messengers helping the world awaken.
During his visions, Gabe learns that everything and everybody is created from the frozen harmony of crystallized light. He sees how his own body is harmonically proportioned from the atomic level up and solar system down. He learns about the different symbols used to describe the physics of harmonics and how they symbolized the ancient theory of everything - Musica Universalis. He discovers that mythology was founded on these ideals and that the archetypal gods were a way to teach the average person about the universal principles found everywhere in Nature. Gabe’s mission is to find a way to help the archetypes return in time to restore balance to a lost techno-pop world teetering on the edge.
Cinematically illustrated using the latest in 3D virtual reality and digital graphics , The Grand Scientific Musical Theatre is as beautiful to look at as it is to ponder. It is a philosophical journey into the mythology of physics, the sacred geometry of life and the music of the planetary spheres. From the latest quantum theories to the most ancient natural philosophy, this deeply symbolic story may represent the real outcome of 2012. Indeed, this may be the very book that started it all.
Jack Kassewitz and assistant, working with a research dolphin
An interview with Jack Kassewitz & John Stuart Reid
‘Are we alone?’ It’s an age-old question and the main area of focus for the SETI Institute (the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) in California. But if you were to ask dolphin researcher Jack Kassewitz, in Florida, he would unequivocally answer:
would point out that SETI’s search for non-human intelligence has just been found right here on earth in the graceful form of dolphins.
leader of a small team of scientists working to prove what many people have intuitively believed for a century or more: that dolphins have language. Kassewitz and English acoustics researcher John Stuart Reid, are confident that their latest results show not only that dolphins possess language but that the form of language is sono-visual not vocal, meaning that dolphins convey information by sending and receiving sound pictures, not vocal words. While their research is thought by some scientists to be controversial other experts are already hailing the Kassewitz-Reid results as a significant breakthrough in the understanding of dolphin language. The greatest challenge for researchers in discovering and deciphering dolphin language over the last two decades has been the sheer complexity of dolphin sounds. Not only are they rich in higher harmonics but also their range of frequencies is immense in comparison with human sounds. Most human voice sounds range between about 100 Hertz and 10,000 Hertz whereas dolphin sounds range anywhere between 100 Hertz and 150,000 Hertz. Making sense of the vast amount of data contained in dolphin sounds has been virtually impossible, until now.
Whereas most dolphin researchers have been searching the
dolphin’s complex sounds for what they believed were words, Kassewitz instead asked: “What if the sounds are not words to be listened to but pictures to be seen?” It was Albert Einstein who said “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Imagination is a quality that Kassewitz has in abundance.
Dolphins can see with sound by sending out a narrow beam of ultrasound
He came across the work of Reid in 2008 who, potentially, seemed to have the perfect solution to the problem in the form of a new instrument—the CymaScope—that remarkably renders sound visible. first exchange of emails with
Kassewitz recalls his
in which he
learned the astonishing fact from the English researcher that sound waves don’t actually exist.
Instead, Reid told him, all audible sounds would look like bubbles if we could see them, and the high frequency sounds of dolphins would resemble flashlight beams. The concept of sound as a wave is simply a label used to describe the fact that sound bubbles and sound beams pulsate in and out in a rhythmic motion. It is this pulsation within the bubble or beam that is typically shown as a wave-like graph. In other words, when scientists describe sound as a wave they are referring to its rhythmic pulsation depicted graphically, not its actual shape. The result of this confusion is that most people incorrectly visualize sounds wiggling their way through air or water rather than visualizing pulsating sound bubbles or shimmering sound beams. This new knowledge was a revelation to Kassewitz. Reid agreed to use the CymaScope to image the sounds of a baby dolphin calling out to his mother, which Kassewitz had just recorded. Rather like an MRi scanner imaging a slice through a body, in a sense the CymaScope allows us to see a slice through the sound bubble or beam. The result was the world’s first dolphin sound made visible. The CymaScope imprinted the baby dolphin’s complex sound on the super-sensitive surface of water, making it visible and available for study. Instead of analyzing dolphin sounds as words the Kassewitz-Reid results indicate that previous research scientists would have had greater success studying the creature’s sounds as pictures. Dolphins possess an extraordinarily large brain in order to produce and process sono-pictures. For instance, a typical static image in a digital camera contains around two million pieces of information (2 megabytes). And at 24 frames per second for movies that amounts to a huge amount of data, which is why, says Kassewitz, dolphins need such a wide range of sounds—to carry the picture data—and a large brain to process the sono-pictures.

The result of the initial work with the baby was published in their December 2008 press release titled “Songs from the Sea. In it they presented an overview of their novel approach to dolphin language and drew parallels with the decipherment of Egyptian hieroglyphs. In the early 19th century Jean-Francois Champollion and Thomas Young had used the Rosetta Stone to discover key elements of the primer that allowed the Egyptian language to be deciphered. Kassewitz and Reid likened the CymaGlyphs (sound pictures produced on the CymaScope) to the hieroglyphs of the Rosetta Stone.

Kassewitz went on to design an experiment in which he recorded dolphin echolocation sounds as they reflected off a range of eight submersed objects, including a plastic cross, a toy duck and a flowerpot. When the reflected sounds were replayed to the dolphin in the form of a game, the dolphin was able to identify the objects with 86% accuracy, providing strong evidence that it had understood the echolocation sounds as pictures. This in itself was a great result but Kassewitz then had the idea to play the same sounds to a different dolphin. He drove two hours to another dolphin facility, set up the test objects in the water and, one by one, replayed the sounds to one of the research dolphins. This dolphin, that had never experienced the sounds before, also identified the objects with a similar high success rate at which point Kassewitz realized he had discovered something important.
He called Reid, “I remember clearly the
stunned silence when I called him [Reid] on the phone and recounted my two experiments. Apparently he got goose bumps when he realized the importance of my discovery, ‘This is a seminal moment in science’, Reid said.
at the possibility that dolphins had evolved their sound picture sense as a form of visual language.
wanted to get to work right away on imaging the echolocation sounds to test the accuracy of my hypothesis.” Kassewitz sent the series of recorded echolocation sounds to Reid who began the tricky process of capturing their imprints on water with the CymaScope. After many failed attempts Reid recalls the first time he saw the shape of the flowerpot on the water’s surface. “I had struggled for days to balance the dynamics of the sound signal and to capture on-camera what is actually a very short-lived event. But then, suddenly, there it was—the flowerpot, rather fuzzy but distinct enough to make out its shape. I could even see the hand that had held the pot in the water. I was amazed at these results and became convinced that Kassewitz’s idea was credible, that dolphins not only see with sound but almost certainly use this sense as a form of language.”
John Stuart Reid working with the CymaScope in the laboratory of Sonic Age Ltd
Following that first success Reid went on to capture the same flowerpot imprint many times, to prove the robustness of the technique, before moving on to image some of the other plastic objects. He likens the fuzzy sonopictures to Edison’s first scratchy recording of ‘Mary had a little lamb’ that eventually led to today’s superlative hi-fi recordings. He has no doubt that the CymaScope technique can be improved to the point where it will be possible to obtain clear pictures of what dolphins are sending and receiving. Reid explains the basic principles of the dolphin’s sound imaging sense: “When a dolphin scans an object with its high frequency sound beam, emitted in the form of short clicks, each click captures a still image, similar to a camera taking a photograph. Each dolphin click is a pulse of pure sound that becomes modulated by the shape of the object. In other words, the pulse of reflected sound contains a semi-holographic sonic representation of the object. A portion of the reflected sound image is collected by the dolphin’s lower jaw, its mandible, where it travels through twin fat-filled ‘acoustic horns’ to the dolphin’s inner ears to create the sono-pictorial image. Surprisingly, it is not necessary for the dolphin, or us in the laboratory, to have the entire reflected sound to be able to recreate the shape of the object; every small part of the dolphin’s reflected echolocation beam contains the full image.” The precise mechanism concerning how the sonic image is
‘read’ by a dolphin’s
ear is still unknown but the team’s present hypothesis is that each click-pulse causes the image to momentarily manifest on the basilar and tectorial membranes, thin sheets of tissue situated in the heart of each cochlea.
Microscopic hairs in each cochlea connect with the tectorial membrane and ‘read’ the shape of the imprint, creating a composite electrical signal representing the object’s shape. This electrical signal travels to the brain via the cochlea nerve and is interpreted as an image. It is thought that dolphins may be able to perceive stereoscopically with their sound imaging sense and since they emit long trains of click-pulses it seems possible that dolphins have persistence of sono-pictorial perception. This is similar to the way our eyes have persistence of vision, allowing us to perceive a series of still frames as a smooth, continuous, moving image. The team postulates that when a dolphin emits a fast train of clicks its perception mechanism may operate like a movie camera capturing a series of still images which, when projected at 24 frames per second appears as a moving image. The dolphin, then, may see sound pictures as smooth, continuous moving images.
said, “The CymaScope imaging technique substitutes a circular
water membrane for the dolphin's tectorial, gel-like, membrane and a camera for the dolphin's brain. We call the technique ‘bio-cymatic imaging,’ capturing the picture before it expands to the boundary of the water. We think that something similar happens in the dolphin’s ears where the sonic image, contained in the reflected click-pulse, travels as a surface acoustic wave along the basilar and tectorial membranes and imprints in an area that relates to the carrier frequency of the click-pulse. With our bio-cymatic imaging technique we believe we see a similar black and white image to that which the dolphin sees when it scans an object with sound, albeit the dolphin almost certainly sees the object with greater definition. Our images resemble sonograms used in hospitals, although while sonograms and CymaGlyphs are created with high frequency sound the CymaScope imaging technique is fundamentally different.”

Dr Horace Dobbs is Director of International Dolphin Watch and a leading authority on dolphin-assisted therapy. “I find the dolphin mechanism for sonic imaging proposed by Jack Kassewitz and John Stuart Reid plausible from a scientific standpoint. I have long maintained that dolphins have a sono-visual language so I am naturally gratified that this latest research has produced a rational explanation and experimental data to verify my conjectures. As early as 1994, in a book I wrote for children, Dilo and the Call of the Deep, I referred to Dilo's ‘Magic Sound’ as the method by which Dilo and his mother pass information between each other using sonic imaging, not just of external visual appearances, but also of internal structures and organs.” Another expert to comment on the team’s findings is David M. Cole, founder of the AquaThought Foundation, a research organization that studied human-dolphin interaction for more than a decade. “Kassewitz and Reid have contributed a novel model for dolphins' sonic perception, which almost certainly evolved out of the creature's need to perceive its underwater world when vision was inhibited. Several conventional linguistic approaches to understanding dolphin communication have dead-ended in the last 20 years so it is refreshing to see this new and highly-nuanced paradigm being explored.” As a result of Reid’s bio-cymatic imaging technique Kassewitz in collaboration with research intern Christopher Brown, of the University of Central Florida, is beginning to develop a new model of dolphin language that they are calling SonoPictorial Exo-holographic Language, (SPEL). Kassewitz explained, “The ‘exoholographic’ part of the acronym derives from the fact that the dolphin pictorial language is theoretically propagated all around the dolphin whenever one or more dolphins in the pod send or receive sono-pictures. Reid has found that any small part of the dolphin’s reflected echolocation beam contains all the data needed to recreate the image cymatically in the laboratory or, he postulates, in the dolphin’s brain. “Our new model of dolphin language is one in which dolphins can not only send and receive pictures of objects around them but can create entirely new sono-pictures simply by imagining what they want to communicate. This is a tremendously exciting possibility.”
a picture speaks a thousand words
Dolphin Language Kassewitz commented,
“It is perhaps challenging for us as
humans to step outside our symbolic thought processes to truly appreciate the dolphin’s world in which, we believe, pictorial rather than symbolic thoughts are king.
Our personal biases, beliefs, ideologies, and
memories penetrate and encompass all of our communication, including our description and understanding of something devoid of symbols, such as SPEL. Dolphins appear to have leap-frogged human symbolic language and instead have evolved a form of communication outside the human evolutionary path. In a sense we do now have the dolphin “Rosetta Stone” that we first searched for in 2008. The CymaScope allows us to tap into their world in a way we could not have even conceived of just a year ago. The old adage, ‘a picture speaks a thousand words’ suddenly takes on a whole new meaning.” And what of the future? When can we look forward to holding a conversation with a dolphin? Kassewitz is already planning the next step in the process, involving recording sound transmissions between dolphins, in effect monitoring the pictures they are sharing with each other. He will then send the recordings to Reid to see if the sounds produce pictures in an attempt to learn what the dolphins were ‘saying’ to each other. For example, a dolphin might send a picture of itself in a particular posture, a form of body language that may convey a thought.
It seems that the day when Kassewitz can ‘speak dolphin’ has just
taken a giant step closer.
Mr Kassewitz and Mr Reid are seeking donations to help support their research into dolphin language. Donations, small and large, are most welcome and will be rewarded by a special gifts related to their research, as a memento of your assistance with the Dolphin Language Research Program.
