5BF Curriculum Newsletter Autumn 1 Keep up to date with what is happening in 5BF by visiting our class blog on our school website and our school twitter account @stmarysrcmidd.
Over the next half term, our topic lessons will include a variety of areas of the curriculum, such as History, ICT, Art and DT. The children in 5BF will study the history of space travel, discover who Neil Armstrong was, they will produce a Q & A for Tim Peake, design and create the planets using Papier Mache, plus designing origami stars and studying the constellations of the stars.
Earth and Space Computing We will be focusing on Information technology and digital literacy this half term. We will be learning how to carry out research effectively and create informative posters (using Comic Life) based on the solar system. Next, we will begin to learn how to use spreadsheets. We will discover how to enter formulae into a spreadsheet to solve calculations and model scenarios, including using =SUM() and statistical functions. In addition, we will ensure that we are all using technology safely, respectfully and responsibly by discussing how we achieve this regularly.
