Learn about Pop art history and purpose, learn about Warhol and Oldenburg. Learn how to develop 3 D sweets or crisp packets using clay or mod rock. Learn how to create repeat images in the style of Warhol using paint / print. Most students will: Understand the pop art style and be able to create 4 repeated image paint, print and 3D clay work with clear links to the artists studied. Be able to explain verbally and in self assessment how their work reflects the artist’s style. Some students will not have made so much progress and will: struggle with creating a repeat image and may need tracing paper, they may only achieve 2 repetitions. Some students will have progressed further and will: Develop their work with greater detail and a good presentational finish. They will work creatively and independently. Introduction to the topic and history of Pop Art. Explanation and demonstration of practical Visual examples to generate ideas and support Examples of work to be undertaken. Make pastiche from Andy Warhol work activities / techniques. weak students. Verbal discussion about techniques using and understanding keywords. Proof reading each others written homework and partner assessment of this.

Knowledge of artists and techniques studied. Skills of repeat printing, pop art 3 dimensional clay / mod roc work. Experiences of working in the style of others, learning new skills through practical tasks. Understanding of skill words and art language, techniques taught and application of these in own work.

IT: used to generate visual resources, Research tasks for homework, possibility to use for written and design tasks also. ECM: al pupils encouraged to participate in class discussions and share ideas / opinions in safe supportive environment. Links with other subjects: History – origins or pop art and links with society.

Prior skills of print work developed into multi colour prints using lino. Paint and drawing skills developed through practice Prior clay skills of relief developed into full 3 Dimensional sculptural work.

Solid grounding in paint, drawing, print and 3 D has now been established and will provide a solid basis for GCSE should pupils continue into KS4.
