Yesterday’s ambitious netball game saw the determined A Team (nicknamed the Electric Eels) snatch their first victory against the competitive and highly skilled girls from St Angela’s 4-1. They were a very tough team to play against but it was terrific teamwork from each of the girls. Miss Johnson acknowledges Daphne’s great defensive skills, Zainab and Eylin’s great movement around court and Zakiya’s super speed. The girls were extremely grateful for all of the good luck wishes that helped them win for School 21 (some girls suggest it was also the brand new purple and blue team bibs!!) The B Team (nicknamed the Dolphins) played another tough game and put in 100% effort and missed out on a deserved victory. Some stand out play came from Christivie, Chloe and also Lola who stepped in at the last minute. They were unfortunate to not be able to score with an injured goal shooter. Well done to all for a fantastic fixture.

Today students observed a two minute silence in recognition of Remembrance Day on 11th November. Remembrance Day has been a memorial day in Britain since the end of World War I in 1918. Its observation gave students an opportunity to respect and commemorate members of the armed forces who have given their lives in the line of duty. The Royal British Legion poppies are for sale at the school and we will continue to sell these for the forthcoming week. Your child will be able to find them at the school’s Main Office in return for a small donation.
Let’s get collecting We are now collecting the ‘Morrisons Let’s Grow’ tokens for free gardening equipment. If you have collected any of these, or are able to, please hand them into the main school office by Monday 26th November.

The Late, Late Show from School 21 Last minute equalizer seals a well earned 2-2 draw School 21’s Football A team delivered a gritty performance yesterday as they faced high flying Kingsford. Playing away from home in intimidating surroundings, they went two nil down in the first ten minutes. But a second half fightback, spearheaded by man of the match Sulaiman Matin, saw the game end 2-2. A debut goal for Yasin Mohamed mid way through the second half was just rewards for better passing and more organisation throughout the team. And the equaliser, scored by Reon Elliston right at the death, crowned off a sweeping move down the right. The result leaves the A Team unbeaten this season with plenty to play for in upcoming fixtures.
