Issue 11: 14th December 2012

Reindeer Come to Westfield Last week, School 21 visited Westfield Shopping Centre as part of a social skills and communication outing. Children enjoyed riding the DLR, feeding the reindeer at Santa's Grotto, viewing the Olympic park, and playing in the children's area. We would like to thank our Year 7 Leader, Raheem Yaseen, for his help and dedication to our Reception children.

Message from our Primary Governor No doubt you are all excited about the children's impending Christmas production, which I'm sure will be fantastic. Following the presentation, I was hoping that parents might want to come along to a Christmas lunch from 11:15-11:30 at the Best CafĂŠ (Stratford Broadway, near the Old Town Hall). This will give us an opportunity to meet one another, have a friendly chat and celebrate the Christmas season together. I hope to see you all there, Leonda

Extreme Reading Challenge We already knew that the School21 team just love to read, but some of the staff couldn't wait to get started on their Christmas challenge! Check out these snaps of Miss Hardy and Miss Baxendale doing some "Extreme reading!"

Parents are invited to attend our Winter Celebration Assembly and Portrait Gallery Viewing on Thursday 20th December 2012. Doors will open at 9 am with Assembly commencing at 9.30am. It is anticipated that the assembly will last no longer than an hour.

This Christmas School 21 Staff will be supporting a Travelling Library in Africa. The library filled with exciting books travels in a secure trunk around schools in Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan and Uganda pulled by a donkey or bicycle. Any parents who also want to support this appeal donations are being collected at the school office.
