 MIAMI – Senior softball player Fink was the recipient of the National Academic Momentum Award as announced Friday by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports. The NCAS is held in conjunction with the Scholar-Baller Program that awards student-athletes for significant academic improvements throughout their collegiate careers. Sixty three nominations were received from 39 different colleges and universities across the country. A male and female winner (two ties) was chosen from nine of the NCS’s 10 regions. Fink was the female winner from the Southeast region and Anthony Davis of UCF was the region’s male winner. Fink, from Lakewood, Calif., is majoring in liberal studies and wants to become an elementary teacher. Last season, the second baseman hit .333 while starting in all 63 games for the Golden Panthers (29-34). Her 51 runs scored were the second best in the Sun Belt Conference.
