IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR Every year, w e invit e our fam ilies and child ren t o celeb rat e t he season by joining us for our annual Holid ay Part y. It is an event like no ot her, b uzzing w it h t he joy and excit em ent of t he child ren w e have served over t he years. For m any of t hese child ren, it is t he first t im e t hey've exp erienced such a holid ay filled w it h so m uch joy, g ift s, d elicious t reat s, and an ab und ance of fun. We never g row t ired of seeing t heir faces lig ht up w hen t hey op en t heir p resent s, are ent ert ained by m ag icians and p up p et eers, or sit w it h Sant a. It is t ruly a d elig ht , and w e are honored t o help m ake t hese m em ories w it h t hem .

"But I alw ays w ant ed t o b e a p arent , so I never g ave up.? A s he ent ered his 30 's, he realized t hat having a fam ily of his ow n w as m ore im p ort ant t han find ing a p art ner at t hat m om ent . W hile exp loring op t ions, he joined a g ay sup p ort g roup online for d ad s b uild ing fam ilies t hroug h fost er care and ad op t ion. There, he w as referred

The b oys w ere old enoug h w hen t hey w ere ad op t ed t o ap p reciat e t he im p act a st ab le and loving hom e m ad e in t heir lives, and t hey und erst ood w hat t his w ould m ean t o anot her child .?

Throug h Ext raord inary Fam ilies, Roy first fost ered and ad op t ed t w o am azing b oys w ho joined his hom e at ag es four and six. Roy sp oke cand id ly ab out t he ap p roval p rocess lead ing up t o t heir p lacem ent . ?It feels aw kw ard , I'm not g oing t o lie. First you sit in a room w it h a g roup of st rang ers for t raining , t hen you sit w it h a social w orker you?ve just m et for d eep ly p ersonal int erview s, you sig n num erous form s all along t he w ay, and at t he end of it all, you?re hand ed child ren. That ?s not g oing t o feel norm al, not unt il you're hom e w it h t hem and just b eing a p arent . Everyt hing b efore t hat p oint just fad es int o t he rear-view m irror, and you just m ove forw ard w it h creat ing a life for t hose ad orab le child ren!?

It has b een four m ont hs since a b aby g irl joined t heir fam ily, and t hey are all hop ing t hey can b e her forever fam ily. One son, t houg h, w as a b it hesit ant t o int eract w it h her w hen she w as just a new b orn. But , as Roy said , ?new b orns can b e scary t o ad ult s, t oo!? Over t he p ast few m ont hs, b ot h b oys have b ecom e m ore involved in careg iving and oft en share snug g les and p layt im e w it h her. They all know she m ay st ill find p erm anency w it h relat ives, b ut t hey are invest ed in g iving her all t he love and care she need s d uring t he t im e t hey have w it h her. ?Our g row ing fam ily is st rong er t han

Fast forw ard six years aft er t he ad op t ion of his sons, Roy m et t he love of his life, Michael. Like Roy, Michael alw ays w ant ed t o b e a p arent . The st ress used t o b e on t he child ren w ho w ere living in fost er hom es t em p orarily and had t o b e m oved w hen t hey need ed p erm anency, oft en b ecause t heir current fost er fam ilies lacked int erest or t he cert ificat ion t o ad op t . Bailey and Barb at o are t he d riving force b ehind World of Wond er, t he aw ard -w inning , m ult i-p lat form p rod uct ion com p any b ehind RuPaul?s Drag Race, w hich received 12 Em m yÂŽ Aw ard nom inat ions and 6 w ins in 20 18; the Million Dollar Listing franchise; Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures; and over 20 years of g round b reaking unscrip t ed , scrip t ed and d ocum ent ary cont ent .
