The Mekong River The Mekong is a trans-boundary waterway which flows for 4,350 kilometres through China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Despite only being Asia’s seventh longest river, it is one of the most biologically diverse in the world – second only to the Amazon. From floating markets to traditional sampans, it is truly fascinating to see how locals live in peaceful union with one of nature’s most plentiful sources.

The Irrawaddy River The Irrawaddy River cuts a peaceful path through central Myanmar for over 2,000 kilometres from its glacial origins in the Himalayas to the Andaman Sea. Experience tranquil pleasures, visionary landmarks and age-old traditions along the water’s edge, while locals make the most of the river as means of transport and life-giver.

WONDER We all strive to feel a closer connection with our surroundings, moments when we move beyond the physical and become truly emotionally engaged in an experience with all of our senses — a moment of wonder. Wonder is a personal emotion, it’s about the heart and the mind, joy, surprise, curiosity and awe. Wonder can be a whole day or a fleeting moment. Travel is about more than distance. It offers us not just a journey across the world to see new sights but into the heart of what it means to be human. It allows us to step outside our normal parameters and become enriched by what we encounter. It presents us with limitless possibilities to become more than we were before. At Scenic we celebrate the art of wonder through travel. Our aim is to elevate your trip from a mere holiday into a journey of discovery. Never lose your sense of wonder.

At the heart of Scenic Aura, the main staircase design is inspired by the natural wonders of Myanmar. Delicate handcrafted birds float across the balustrade, reflecting the beautiful birdlife found at Inle Lake and throughout the land.

Mai Chau Mai Chau is an idyllic valley interspersed with villages, rice fields and limestone cliffs. Located less than 150 kilometres from Hanoi, it is home to many hill tribes including the Dzao, Muong and Thai. This beautiful mountainous area is abundant with thick jungle vegetation, bamboo groves, tea plantations and waterfalls and lends itself to relaxing walks and mini treks to ethnic minority villages, without the influx of tourists. It is a perfect destination for those who are seeking an idyllic escape and wish to immerse themselves in simple village life.

Mai Chau Eco Lodge Mai Chau Ecolodge is a brand new four-star lodge featuring 21 charming bungalows carefully built and operated with ecological principles in mind. This location is ideally suited for those seeking a balance between tourism, environmental conservation, and ethnic heritage with bungalows set in a spectacular view of the valley and rice fields.
