WEEK 1:

Managing Today’s Treasures Emphasis = Everything belongs to God and we are managers of it

Day 1: Monday, October 10th Scripture: 1 Chr. 29:11-17: Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours … 12 Wealth and honor come from you … in your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all … 14 But who am I [King David], and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand … 16 LORD our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you. 17 … All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you. (NIV) Life Thought: God is the actual owner of everything, we are merely His stewards (money managers), and it is God who blesses with the ability and power to achieve wealth and honor. Key Question: Since God is the actual owner of everything, shouldn’t we routinely ask Him how He would like us to invest the resources which He has placed “under our control” or stewardship? Prayer Focus: Pray for Pastor Chip, Pastor Tom, and Jan Atchley, that they would fully know the will of God for SCC, and that the Lord would continue to bless them with sound wisdom to lead our staff and church effectively in all matters. Pray that our people would have a good understanding of God’s will regarding our “Love Makes Room” project, and that, in support of Christ’s Great Commission (Mat. 28:19-20), we would avail ourselves of this important opportunity to both strengthen discipleship and multiply the kingdom of God by reconfiguring our campus for increased ministry effectiveness. Generational Prayer: 0 – 10 yrs… For their fun, hope-filled energy to encourage us all & for their parents to love them well in the Lord. Music Option: Lord, I Need You…. Passion Worship Band from Here for You

Day 2: Tuesday, October 11th Scripture: Lk. 16:10-13: “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12 And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own? 13 No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” (NIV) Life Thought: Commit all that you are and have to God, and pray that He would grant you His wisdom to re-direct every aspect of your life – your time, talent, and treasure – to maximize your impact for His kingdom. (Prov. 16:3; James 1:5) Key Question: What do your check book and credit card statements indicate about your life priorities? What kind of statement am I making to the world with the way I handle my money? Could anyone tell by looking at my checkbook that I’m a Christian? Quote: Idolatry is worshipping and serving anything other than the One true God. Everything we have, including money, is either a tool or an idol. If we fail to use it as a tool for God’s intended purposes, it mutates into an idol (Randy Alcorn, Money, Possessions & Eternity). Prayer Focus: Pray for our project General Chairs Tom & Michelle Stricker and Mike & Elizabeth Stanley, that God would bless them with wisdom to provide strong lay leadership for our project, that He would protect them from undo stress and distraction related to their responsibilities, and that they would enjoy good rapport with and receive competent and enthusiastic support from each of the other project teams. Pray that, throughout this season of special opportunity, each of us would commit ourselves to deepen our walk with the Lord, through diligent study of His Word, by praying more consistently, and by serving one another with our spiritual giftedness in love and humility. Help us, Lord, to be people who stand for You in every arena of life, with integrity, in truth, in righteousness, with justice, exhibiting love and compassion for all. Generational Prayer: 11 – 20 yrs… For their life-choices that can shape their future & for their parents to be intentional & wise. Music Option: Take My Life… Passion from Hymns Ancient and Modern

Day 3: Wednesday, October 12th Scripture: Lk. 12:42-44, 48: The Lord answered, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time? 43 It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns. 44 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 And from everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. (NIV) Life Thought: God has blessed each of us with our own unique set of aptitudes, talents, and treasures, which therefore positions us to serve Him in a unique way. You will be interested wherever you have a vested interest. How we manage our time, talent and treasure often indicates our life health and how closely we walk with Him. Key Questions: God keeps records. Imagine a heavenly scroll register listing all of the gifts that you give throughout your lifetime. What would you want to be on this list? What action does this prompt you to take now? Prayer Focus: Pray for our Advance Commitments Team, co-led by Wally & Pat Lecocq and Jim & Pat Hishmeh, that God would bless them with the understanding, sensitivity, and interpersonal skills needed to encourage our people to make the initial and substantive financial commitments during this critical stage of our project. Pray that many members would embrace the opportunity to make early and significant financial commitments to the project, and that these early commitments would provide strong momentum for the remainder of this vital initiative. While all of us cannot give equal amounts, we pray that we might all give equal sacrifice that honors the Lord who sacrificed more than words can express. Pray that everyone would discover and apply their aptitudes, talents, and treasures in service to the Lord and to this project – it is a great blessing to be a part of something that is much bigger than you or any of us could do alone! Generational Prayer: 21 – 30 yrs… For their life-commitments of profession, spouse, family & for Lord to be at the center. Music Option: We All Bow Down… Lenny LeBlanc

Day 4: Thursday, October 13th Scripture: 2 Cor. 9:11-12: You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. (NIV) 2 Cor 8: 2-4, 7: Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints… 7 But just as you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us – see that you also excel in this grace of giving. Life Thought: God prospers us, not to raise our standard of living, but to raise our standard of giving. Perhaps God has prospered you “for such a time as this” (Est. 4:14). Key Question: Have you ever challenged yourself to increase your giving in terms of percentage of income, as compared to when you first started giving? Quote: Contentment is a learned response…. Only as a I realize that God is sovereign and providentially in control of my earthly lot (my vocation and income) can I truly be content. Only as I learn to trust Him can I have true contentment… contentment is really a spiritual issue (Russ Crosson, 8 Important Money Decisions…) Prayer Focus: Pray for our Ministry Champions Team, co-led by Tom & Karen Seiler, Eric & Lisa Debelack, and Scott & Tammy O’Neal, that they would gather meaningful input from each ministry area to ensure that our building design stage appropriately reflects all key individual ministry requirements. May we with the Holy Spirit’s help anticipate needs we don’t know we will need in the future days of ministry, so that we design the right building for the ministry He has planned for us in the generations that will benefit from this act of faith among the faithful. Pray that we would remain mindful that we are constructing a building for the primary purpose of extending the kingdom of God. Generational Prayer: 31 – 40 yrs… For their lives/family be faithful in the church & continuing to grow in the key areas of life. Music Option: And Now My Lifesong Sings… Casting Crowns from Lifesong

Day 5: Friday, October 14th Scripture: Acts 20:35: “In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” 1 Cor 15: 10: “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me, was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them – yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.” Life Thought: According to scripture, it is more blessed to give than receive. Yet, in an ironic twist, and because of God’s principle of reciprocity, it is also true that, the more we give, the more we will ultimately receive, and the more joyful we become here and now. Key Question: Do you agree with the above statement? If not, why not? If so, does your level of giving confirm your belief of this principle? Quote: The less I spent on myself and the more I gave to others, the fuller of happiness and blessing did my soul become. (Hudson Taylor, 19th cent. Chinese missionary) Prayer Focus: Pray for our Spiritual Emphasis Team, co-led by Rich & Judy Galling and Jeff & Joyce Stearn, that the team would lead our collective efforts both individually and corporately to soak our entire spiritual journey in prayer, so as to encourage a sincere seeking of God’s direction for the future ministry of our church, to help all Spring Creekers engage in introspective assessment of personal commitment based on Christian stewardship principles, and to help promote a climate of Christian love, unity of purpose, and the exercise of faith. Pray that God will prepare all of our hearts to be receptive to whatever decisions that He would have us to make regarding this project. That we would not be a people who only read the Word but do not obey the Word, that we would by faith follow Christ by living what He says (James 1: 22). Generational Prayer: 41 – 50 yrs… For their life to make good “tweaks” to enjoy seeing more fruit produced now & later. Music Option: Jesus Paid It All… Fernando Ortega from Storm

WEEK 2:

Storing Up Tomorrow’s Treasures Emphasis = Investing in eternity means investing in people

Day 6: Monday, October 17th Scripture: Matt. 6:19-21: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (NIV) Jeremiah 9:23-24: This is what the LORD says: “Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, 24 but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the LORD. Life Thought: Your heart always goes where you put your money. Either we will depart from our treasures, or our treasures will depart from us. Key Question: Do you focus on the eternal, or the here-and-now? Quote: “You can’t take it with you, but you can send it on ahead.” (The Treasure Principle, Randy Alcorn) Prayer Focus: Pray for our Communications Team, led by Jodi & Marlaina Ulrich and Ryan & Jennifer Malecki, that they would provide effective communications to our congregation throughout the project regarding its vision, goals, and strategies, in a way that informs, awakens, challenges, and involves all Spring Creekers. Pray that their communications will help the congregation maintain its focus on the Christ-centered nature of the project. Generational Prayer: 51 – 60 yrs… For their life to continue investing well & to enjoy helping others grow from their learning. Music Option: God of Eternity… John Paul Jackson from I Am – 365 Names of God

Day 7: Tuesday, October 18th Scripture: 1 Tim. 6:17-19: Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life. (NIV) Proverbs 21:20-21: In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has. 21 He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. Life Thought: It is our privilege to be a blessing to others as God has prospered us. As we bless others in Jesus name, we discover what it is to be wealthy in God’s eyes which is true wealth. Key Question: Does your current level of giving suggest that you are a “pipe” (flowing with generosity) or a “bucket” (hoarding wealth)? Quote: “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.” (missionary Jim Elliot) Prayer Focus: Pray for our Presentations Team, co-led by Charlie & Jen Thombs and Tom Clark, that they would prepare an informative and challenging presentation to be offered to each Spring Creek small group ministry which would explain the need to remove our physical barriers, and our options for doing so in a way which is “creatively frugal” – that is, both effective and fiscally astute. Generational Prayer: 61 – 70 yrs… For their life to share God’s faithfulness over the years & others learn from their examples. Music Option: Hallowed… Jennifer Knapp from Sing Alleluia

10

Day 8: Wednesday, October 19th Scripture: 1 Timothy 6: 6-10: But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 People who want to get rich, fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. Matt. 19:21: Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” (NIV) Life Thought: A key element in becoming “fully mature and perfect in Christ” (Col. 1:28) requires that we be generous in our giving… and a recognition that it all “ends up at the curb” at life’s end – we take nothing with us. Key Question: Are you sensitive to the needs of the poor and oppressed? (Mat. 25:31-46) Prayer Focus: Pray for our Arrangements Team, co-led by Michael & Brenda Baudo and Rodney & Janice Ross, that they would provide an appropriate and inviting setting for the October Tier-3 Advance Commitment Meeting. Pray for wise planning, including seating arrangements, activity center and table decorations which promote the “Love Makes Room” theme, and for the provision of light refreshments. Pray that this meeting will foster Christian fellowship and encourage maximum participation regarding advance commitments. Pray that the Holy Spirit reveals to each member with a sacrificial number that will take faith, but will show God’s faithfulness to us and for generations to come. Generational Prayer: 71 – 80 yrs…. For their life-legacy to continue to follow His lead & to pray for good health. Music Option: Never Once… Matt Redman from 10,000 Reasons All I Need… Sara Groves from The Other Side of Something

11

Day 9: Thursday, October 20th Scripture: Col. 3:23-24: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (NIV) Mark 10:45: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give his life as a ransom for many.” Psalm 115:1: Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. Life Thought: Heaven -- not earth -- is our true home. The key to maintaining our motivation under challenging circumstances is to recognize that everything we do is actually on behalf of the Lord, who will eventually reward us according to our faithfulness. Key Question: How does knowing this truth help you “overcome” in challenging situations? Prayer Focus: Pray for our Creative Gifts Team, co-led by Ed & Kristin Sarskas and John & Patty Treiber, that they will identify and enlist financial and legal professionals (i.e., CPA, CFP, attorney, etc.) who will be available to educate and assist potential donors towards optimizing their giving options. Pray that they will also identify other appropriate education materials, as needed. Pray that the DVD seminar which they facilitate will adequately explain key issues relevant to creative giving options. Generational Prayer: 81 – 95 yrs… For their life-legacy to be one of a prayer-warrior and grateful for their faithful service. Music Option: Good Good Father… Chris Tomlin

12

Day 10: Friday, October 21st Scripture: Matt. 19:27-29: Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?” 28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. (NIV) Psalm 116:12-14: How can I repay the Lord for all his goodness to me? 13 I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord. 14 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people. Life Thought: Jesus promises to reward us in heaven with power and possessions featuring a 100-fold return on our earthly investments. “(The Parable of the Sower, explained by Jesus) “But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a 100, 60 or 30 times what was sown” (Matt 13: 23). Key Question: Does the prospect of an eternal 100, 60, 30 fold return-oninvestment motivate you to reconsider your ministry investing? Prayer Focus: Pray for our Reminder Team, led by David & Kay Blank and Greg & Mindy Millen, that they will be effective in reaching out to and enrolling those who have yet to sign up for the Tier-3 Advance Challenge Meeting, so as to achieve maximum participation. Pray for them to have a pleasing, “telephone voice” personality, and to be agile in responding to any potential objections, without becoming discouraged. Generational Prayer: 91 – 100 yrs… For their loved ones to love them well and show kindness for their service in the Lord. Music Option: I Will Follow… Chris Tomlin

13

WEEK 3:

The Key to the Treasure Emphasis = To truly unlock God’s blessings in this life and eternal blessings in the next… God tells us to offer your life and your stuff as a sacrifice

Day 11: Monday, October 24th Scripture: Matt. 16:24-26: Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? (NIV) Life Thought: In Luke’s corresponding account, the text includes the word “daily” (“take up their cross daily”). Key Question: How does my giving reflect that I “deny myself” so as to minister to others more meaningfully? Prayer Focus: Pray for Pastor Mike Wilkerson (Children’s Pastor) & Pastor Case Seymour (Student Pastor), that the Lord would continue to guide and deepen their walk with Him. Pray that each would enjoy good rapport with their students, that they would be alert to potential problems, and that each would have the wisdom and patience to deal effectively with these issues. May they have an exceptional command of relevant subject matter, and be gifted with extraordinary teaching abilities. May they proclaim and teach the gospel in a winsome way. Pray that they receive all of the needed lay worker support. People-Groups Prayer: Widows… That they may feel the comfort of Christ’s love in a special and meaningful way daily. Music Option: I Need Thee Every Hour… Fernando Ortega from Hymns & Meditations

14

Day 12: Tuesday, October 25th Scripture: Ephesians 5:1-2: Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (NIV) John 15:12-14: My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. (NIV) Life Thought: Jesus is our supreme example of sacrificial love. Quote: “The life which magnifies Christ most is the life of costly love.” (John Piper) Key Question: Knowing of Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf, how could we give Him anything less than our total commitment? Pray that God would help you to “go, and do likewise”. (Luke 10:37) Prayer Focus: Pray for Pastor Josh Reiss (Outreach/Life Group Director) & Pastor Mike Poelzer (Connections Pastor), that each would grow in their walk with the Lord, and continue to develop master strategies towards maximizing their respective impacts for the kingdom. Pray that the Lord would bring them new opportunities to explore. Pray that they become part of a strong network of Christian thought leaders in their areas of influence. Pray for many supportive lay personnel. People-Groups Prayer: Orphans… That they may feel the love of a family, that serves each other in ways that honor Christ. Music Option: You Gave Your Life Away… Paul Baloche from Our God Saves

15

Day 13: Wednesday, October 26th Scripture: Phil. 2:3-5: Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus. (NIV) Matthew 22:36-40: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 The second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Life Thought: Scripture informs us that we have access to the “mind of Christ” (1 Cor. 2:16). Pray for God to help you see life from His perspective, and to give you His grace – the desire and power to perform His will. Key Question: Would those who know you best conclude that you are “otherfocused” or “self-focused”? What is your life-legacy today and how could it change if we lived our verses today – how would we change & others around us be changed? Prayer Focus: Pray for Pastor Brian Mitchell (Programming Pastor) & Pastor Dan Forness (Worship Pastor), that the Lord would continue to bless their life and ministry in every way. Pray that Pastor Brian would be able to efficiently navigate through the voluminous information available, and to maintain proficiency on current technologies. Pray that Pastor Dan would continue to find new and exciting ways to lead our church in worship. Pray that he would continue to grow in his musicianship in every way, and that many other musicians would become part of our Spring Creek praise band and vocal team. People-Groups Prayer: Singles… That the Lord would give them strength, wisdom and His peace in a “couples focused culture.” Music Option: My Own Little World… Matthew West

16

Day 14: Thursday, October 27th Scripture: 1 Cor. 9:19, 22-24: 19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. 24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. (NIV) Romans 12:1-2: Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God -- this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will. Life Thought: We are to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to God under the Lordship of Christ in every way. One of the ways we do this, is to live by the Word’s value system, and not by the world’s value system – we show our lives to be an act of worship as we allow our mind to be transformed by the truth & live “in tune” with truth. Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth and the life” and “the Word made flesh)… (John 14: 6 & John 1: 14). Key Question: In what ways do you try to become “all things to all people” that you might be God’s special agent to help bring others to salvation? Prayer Focus: Pray for Beth Johnson (Women’s Director) & Jamie Ellinger (Worship, College/ 20’s Director), that they would enjoy strong rapport with their respective groups. May they be capable of appreciating the needs and interests of those they minister to, and be able to identify appropriate resources to effectively address these needs. Pray that they would facilitate strong fellowship within their groups, and be strong leaders among their peers. People-Groups Prayer: Single-Parent… That the Lord would give them strength and wisdom to know the priorities & be loved. Music Option: Give Me Your Eyes… Brandon Heath from What If We

17

Day 15: Friday, October 28th Scripture: Lk. 21:1-4: As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. 2 He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. 3 “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. 4 All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” (NIV) 2 Sam. 24:24: But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels of silver for them. (NIV) Life Thought: From God’s perspective, the value of a gift is not based on its absolute size, but on the level of sacrifice made relative to one’s capacity to give. Key Question: Do you give only out of your abundance, or – like King David and the widow of Luke 21 – do you give in such a way that it actually “costs you something”? Prayer Focus: Pray for Jeanne Ringenoldus (Accountant) & Marlania Ulrich (Decoration Director), that the Lord would continue to equip them to fulfill their respective duties faithfully and enthusiastically in every way. For Jeanne doing a great job organizing all the ministry budgets so they can have the resources needed to do their various ministries. To Marlania whose creativity and design gifts continue to make people love their church home and to think about the topics and studies we do in fresh and fun ways for all the generations represented at Spring Creek Church. People-Groups Prayer: Unemployed… That the Lord would provide for their daily needs and for work that is a blessing. Music Option: Open Our Eyes Dear Savior… Ginny Owens from City On A Hill – The Gathering

18

WEEK 4:

Finding the Treasure of Joy Emphasis = Finding the treasure of joy through giving

Day 16: Monday, October 31st Scripture: Matt. 13:44: The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. (NIV) Life Thought: Giving our money (which is actually God’s money) to what is important to God (via supporting the church, missions, the poor, etc.) moves us from a self-centered focus to a Savior-centered focus, with the result that:

• • • • • •

Our capacity to love others increases Our prayers become more meaningful We will witness God at work Our maturity in Christ grows Our present joy increases Our heavenly reward grows

Key Question: How have you experienced the reality of these benefits? Prayer Focus: Pray for Kristin Reiss (Middle School Director) & Aaron Crowley (Student Ministry & Facility), that they would enjoy good rapport with their student groups, and be discerning of problems and challenges which individual youth face, and that they would be skillful in dealing with these issues. Equip them to provide a safe and engaging environment for their students, that students will be able to be open to learning about life-changing truth. That the Holy Spirit would continue to give them the strength to serve Christ well and serve the students well in ways that change their eternal destiny and their legacy at their schools, in their families and community. People-Groups Prayer: Un-happily employed… That the Lord would help discouraged workers to find joy in their work. Music Option: Sovereign… Chris Tomlin from Burning Lights

Day 17: Tuesday, November 1st Scripture: Phil. 3:7-8: But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ. (NIV) Deuteronomy 7:9: Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands. Life Thought: Everything we could possibly have in this life is worthless compared to “gaining Christ”. Our ultimate joy is found in knowing and living for Jesus Christ as our Savior and our Lord. Key Question: How have you made “sacrificing all for the sake of gaining Christ” a reality in your life? In what ways have you done this in the past and how do you hope to do this in the future? Prayer Focus: Pray for Gary Griffith (Facilities Manager) & Bob Larson (Pastoral Assistant), that they would have the appropriate knowledge to properly manage every aspect of our facility. May we praise the Lord for the beautiful and well kept facility that these men help lead and use support teams to keep it as a good witness to all who walk in it or drive by it. Pray that many laypersons will support them in their responsibilities and that the church campus would always give God glory. People-Groups Prayer: Nation… That the USA would bow down to Almighty God & that God-fearing people lead the nation. Music Option: He’s Always Been Faithful… Sara Grove from Conversations

Day 18: Wednesday, November 2nd Scripture: Lk. 14:12-14: Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. 13 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” (NIV) James 2: 26: As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. Life Thought: We receive blessing (including joy) when we minister to those less fortunate than us. Key Question: When you socialize, do you expand your circle to include others who might negatively affect your social status, or do you interact only with those who might elevate your position and prestige? Prayer Focus: Pray for Tracey Poindexter (Admin. Assistant to Pastor Poelzer) & Monica Macleod (Asst. to Pastor Mitchell & Director Reiss), that they may have the capacities and energies to fully satisfy all of their work requirements accurately and on schedule, and that they will continue to grow in their areas of responsibility in ways that bless people who have their first interactions with the front desk and Life Groups at the church. People-Groups Prayer: Wisconsin… That the state would be filled with thriving churches, communities, schools & companies. Music Option: We All Bow Down… Lenny LeBlanc from One Desire

Day 19: Thursday, November 3rd Scripture: Matt. 25:34-40: “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” (NIV) Life Thought: When we become aware of genuine needs, we typically don’t have the option of a delayed response. Nothing is more fleeting than the moment of conviction. We must learn to discipline ourselves to act responsibly in the moment of need according to biblical principles and God’s direction. Give to what matters now. Key Question: The need to reconfigure our campus to increase the overall ministry effectiveness of SCC is real and must be responsibly addressed. How could the scriptural principles presented throughout this devotional help you determine your role in this life-changing investment opportunity? Prayer Focus: Pray for Trina Klinkhardt (Asst. to Pastor Forness) & Wendy Scholler (Asst. to Pastor Wilkerson & Pastor Seymour), that they may be productive in every area of responsibility, have good interactions with all other staff members, and continue to grow in their walk with the Lord in every way. May they enjoy the blessing of coordinating all of our young children and our teens within their many opportunities provided here to bless them and encourage them to follow the lead of Jesus. May Trina enjoy the opportunity to serve the church well in all her administrative help with worship services and other important areas of Pastor Dan’s ministry to the whole church family. People-Groups Prayer: Milwaukee… That the social division would be unified through Jesus Christ & we would love well. Music Option: It Is Well… Bethel Music & Kristene DiMarco from You Make Me Brave (Live) Thank You For Giving To The Lord (Ray Boltz) 22

Day 20: Friday, November 4th Scripture: Matt. 25:19-21: “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ 21 His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’” (NIV) John 15: 7-8: “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be given you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” Life Thought: The more wisely and sacrificially we invest in God’s kingdom now, the greater will be our joy in this life and our reward in heaven. Key Question: Based on your current level of giving, how will you feel about it 5 minutes after you die? Quote: “Only one life, ‘twill soon be past; only what’s done for Christ will last.” (missionary C. T. Studd) Prayer Focus: Pray for Mark Millard (Security) & Stan Litwicki (Facilities), that they would continue to grow in their walk with the Lord, and that they would be alert to key needs in their respective areas. Pray that Mark and his team would have all the necessary insights to keep Spring Creek safe. Bless Stan with wisdom to manage his areas of responsibility and to continue to enjoy serving the Lord by caring for many facility needs after big events or on-going ministry. As we conclude our devotional reading journey, pray that all Spring Creekers would become wise and faithful stewards of all that God entrusts to our care, and that we would be fully receptive to whatever role the Lord would have each of us to undertake as – together – we seek to “help make fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ” by reconfiguring our campus for ministry effectiveness. People-Groups Prayer: That our church faithfully serves Christ in Pewaukee, Milwaukee, WI, USA & Globally and for our missionaries around the world. Music Option: Endless Hallelujah… Matt Redman from 10,000 Reasons 23
