Helena Technical Translations provides general and technical translations from and into almost every language. For languages such as Dutch, English, German and French, the translations are done in-house by professional translators. “For other languages, we work with regular partner translation agencies and freelance translators,” says Helena van Loon, owner of Helena Technical Translations. The work process is in accordance with the European standard for translation services, with a focus on terminology, grammar, coherence of words and expressions, style, local customs, format, audience and purpose of the translation. “We are a certified technical translation agency and preferred language provider for our customers. That means that our work has to comply with the highest quality standards.”

For well-known international suppliers of medical equipment, they translate manuals of MRI scanning equipment and medical instruments, such as hearing aids. Any type of content requires a good understanding of these systems and knowledge of the proper terminology. “We translate for both industry and promotion; marketing, advertising, online, packaging material and even small manuals for technical business gifts and promotional items,” says van Loon. “We also deliver ‘supply on demand translations’ for major international clients. This type of project involves a high volume of small orders on a daily basis. We operate professionally, flexibly and are focused on the customer.”

Each person has his or her own specialist understanding of certain systems and the accompanying knowledge of the terminology.
