EMA Please could you let Sam Stingemore know as soon as your receive your Notice of Entitlement for next year.  SPORTS DAY Sixth Form students will be expected to participate this year. Please see your form tutor for details. Please note the changes to the school day. Break is at 10.00, a shortened lunch between 12:20 - 12:55 and the track events will begin at 13:00.Lessons will run as normal prior to the event.  BLOOMING GREAT TEA PARTY    The Blooming Great Tea Party was a great success. We, (Emily Sullivan and Jess Sumby), managed to raise over £550 for Marie Curie Cancer Care thanks to all of you who came or made a donation. We hope that everyone who attended enjoyed the delicious cakes provided by our lovely friends, so thank you to them! Also thank you to Olivia Figgis, Harry Wright and Dom Claytor for performing on the day for us, you sounded fantastic! MUSIC Congratulations to Jamie Semark (Year 11) and Joe Veck (Year 12) who have both achieved a distinction in their Grade 8 clarinet exams. This is a fantastic accolade and something that is so hard to do. They are both dedicated, hardworking musicians. WORK EXPERIENCE REFERENCES We have received a number of references back from Year 12 work experience placements. If you would like to see if you  have one please see Julie for a copy.  CONSIDERING WORKING WITH ANIMALS? The College of Animal Welfare, RVC, Boltons Park farm, Hawkshead Road, Potters bar, Herts. EN6 1NB are holding 2  open evenings on Tues 21st June and weds 22nd July for students interested in working with animals (6­8pm) to find out  more look on their website:  http://www.caw.ac.uk    Fulbright Commission – Studying in the USA Seminar Pure Potential have teamed up with the US­UK Fulbright Commission to organise an event for students, teachers and  parents to come and learn everything they need to know about studying in the USA. This is a fantastic opportunity to for your students to meet alumni members and representatives from Harvard, Yale, MIT  and NYU and attend talks led by the Fulbright Commission, an organisation which advises thousands of UK students on  study in the USA each year. Last year, approximately 8,700 UK students chose the US for their studies. The event takes place on Wednesday, 20th July 2011 between 4pm – 8pm in London, and is open to Year 11, 12 and 13  students, who are predicted a minimum of BBB at A­Level (or equivalent). SIXTH FORM IMPORTANT DATES Wednesday 20th July. Sports Day.  Thursday 21st July. End of term.  Periods 1 & 2 normal lessons. P3 Assembly and Bananafest Thursday 18th August. A2 Level results 9:00am. AS Level results from 10:00am Thursday 25th August. GCSE results Results will be given out at main reception Monday 5th September. Term starts Yr 12 8.45am assembly in common room followed by form time Yr 13 8.45am form time then assembly at 10am in common room.  Period 3 Yr 13 resume normal timetable Period 3, 4 & 5 Yr 12 off timetable – activities in common room.
