MESSAGE FROM SENIOR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Dear Friends of the American Cancer Society, I am pleased to welcome you to the JW Marriot for the 12th annual American Cancer Society Indianapolis Discovery Ball presented by Valeo Financial Advisors. Every year this event brings our corporate partners and generous donors together to work in unison in a single fight – uniting with us to attack cancer from every angle. Since 2009, this incredible event has raised more than $4.3 million to support the Society’s mission to save lives and create a world with less cancer. One thing is certain: our mission continues to remain strong – the American Cancer Society is moving forward in our critical work - including research, patient programs, education, support, and community engagement. In every community, patients in treatment and their caregivers are depending on the American Cancer Society to forge ahead in our lifesaving work. We are continuously working to improve health equity in our communities – providing education, information and resources – for those underserved individuals that have faced barriers to cancer. The Indianapolis Discovery Ball is a one-of-a-kind event with a group of extraordinary volunteers leading the charge. We are grateful for the unwavering support and leadership of our event chairs, Matt Koscal (Chief Administration Officer and Senior Vice President, Republic Airways) and David J. Carr (Partner, Ice Miller), as well as the Board of Ambassadors working with these chairs to engage the corporate community. We are also thankful to our dedicated event chair, Mary Creazzo, Director of First Impressions and Client Events, SBC Wealth Management, and the Discovery Ball Committee who planned this evening. It is going to take all of us, working together, to beat this disease. With your generous support, we are delivering cancer research breakthroughs to find more – and better – treatments, as well as uncover factors that affect cancer risk, help find cancer earlier, and improve the quality of life for cancer patients. So, let’s have some fun tonight! Join me as we raise critical funds for health equity to ensure that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to find, prevent, treat and survive cancer. Thank you for Lighting the Way Through Hope tonight. Yours in the fight,

Brad Burk Senior Executive Director – Indiana and Kentucky American Cancer Society

Dear Friends, Welcome to the 2021 American Cancer Society Discovery Ball. Thank you for joining us to celebrate and further the work of the American Cancer Society. This year, we are honored to be the Presenting Sponsor and to help remember Judy Christofolis, the 2021 Legacy Honoree and late wife of one of our advisors, Ted Christofolis. Judy succumbed to metastatic breast cancer on March 12, 2020. Described as strong, generous, compassionate, selfless, and humble, Judy left an indelible mark as a community leader and successful businessperson. Judy was involved in the American Cancer Society for many years, where she was a founding member and served as treasurer for the Indianapolis American Cancer Society Guild which now helps administer the Judy Christofolis Cancer Scholarship. The scholarship is available to college-bound high school seniors who currently have or have experienced cancer personally or have a parent/guardian or sibling who currently has or has had cancer. Together we all have an opportunity this evening to have an impact, to improve treatments and ultimately help find a cure against cancer. You are supporting researchers who are looking for answers, patients who will have better outcomes due to early detection, loved ones who are organizing and educating our communities on the importance of screenings, and healthcare heroes who are providing compassionate care every day. Our commitment to support families facing cancer is one of the many reasons we are an American Cancer Society partner, and we are proud to champion its mission this evening to save lives, celebrate lives and lead the fight for a world without cancer. Please accept our personal thanks for your support tonight. It is an honor to be a part of this spectacular evening with all of you. Valeo Financial Advisors, LLC 10 W. Carmel Drive, Suite 400 Carmel, IN 46032

Dear Friends and Supporters of the American Cancer Society, It has been an absolute honor and pleasure to serve as the event chair for the 12th annual American Cancer Society Discovery Ball. Early in 2021, our committee decided on the theme of Lighting the Way Through Hope because having hope is such a key component for one’s fight against cancer. The American Cancer Society through their fundraising efforts helps light the way through various treatments and research in the fight against cancer. Our goal this year is to raise $500,000 to help battle this disease. The Board of Ambassadors and Discovery Ball Committees were ready for this challenge! Through countless meetings, calls, follow up, fundraisers and YOU, we will surpass this goal to continue the fight to end cancer. This year’s gala will raise funds to benefit Health Equity and help ensure that everyone will have access to help treat, prevent, and survive cancer along with living their healthiest life possible. I would like to give a huge thank you to three key people who without them, this event would not be possible. First, I would like to thank our two Executive Co-Chairs, Matt Koscal and David Carr for their leadership of the Board of Ambassadors and their constant efforts to raise the bar higher for a successful event. A special thank you goes to Lisa Breall for all her dedication and hard work to make our auction like no other. Lastly, I would like to thank all of you! The 12th annual Discovery Ball would not be possible without the generous support of the sponsors, donors, guests, and the ACS Indiana staff joining forces to raise funds to fight this horrible disease. Thank you for attending this event and LIGHTING THE WAY THROUGH HOPE! Mary Creazzo Discovery Ball Event Chair 2021 Director of First Impressions and Client Events SBC Wealth Management

LEGACY HONOREE JUDY CHRISTOFOLIS Strong, generous, compassionate, selfless, and humble are some of the many words that describe Judy Morford Christofolis, Judy passed away on March 12, 2020 after a long and courageously fought battle with metastatic breast cancer. Judy began her professional career as a CPA with Geo. S. Olive. There she met Ted Christofolis and they married in 1986. In 1998 she and Ted started Redwood Investment Advisors. Judy also worked as campaign treasurer for her friend Congresswoman Susan Brooks. She was a member of the Junior League of Indianapolis and served on the Board of Directors for the Indianapolis Art Center and was involved in the American Cancer Society, where she was a founding member of the Indianapolis American Cancer Society Guild.

Judy and her parents enjoyed summer vacations on Lake Wawasee in Syracuse, IN where she developed her love for lake life. She shared her love for the lake with Ted and they subsequently purchased a home on Lake Syracuse. Judy had a brilliant sense of style. Her décor, her homes and her attire were always impeccable. Judy and her parents traveled the world. Her love of travel began when they visited her brother, Dick Morford, whose career was with the Foreign Service. They visited Japan, Indonesia, Korea, and France. Judy and Ted continued to travel the world which included several cruises on the Queen Mary II. One of Judy’s many passions was entertaining clients and friends who were the recipients of Judy's learned skills from studying at the Culinary Institute of America in New York. Highlight of the year was their December Holiday Open House where guests were treated to a gourmet meal and delectable desserts made by Judy herself. All left with cookies to go (800 made annually) and homemade treats for their guest's canine family members. Perhaps Judy’s greatest passion was time spent with her girlfriends AKA “The Girls”, a group of nine friends, some she had known since kindergarten. These life-long best friends, despite living in multiple states, have never left each other’s hearts. For over 40 years, these girls continue to see each other through trips to the lake, weekend getaways, and multiple cruises. A final trip together with Judy was an amazing holiday excursion to Chicago in November 2019. Judy had a love for animals that was unmatched. Jasmine was one of her favorite strays to stumble on to their property. She was truly Judy’s soul mate. She and Ted also rescued many beagles over the years. In the late afternoon of March 12, 2020, her family and friends witnessed a rainbow encircling their residence. This majestic rainbow lasted 25 minutes, welcoming Judy to her heavenly home.

From supporting programs that enabled these individuals to make it through treatment, to increasing prevention and early detection, from funding lifesaving cancer research, to ensuring issues important to cancer patients remain a top priority to our lawmakers, from remembering and honoring loved ones lost to cancer, YOU are also part of their story.

Your attendance tonight, your generous donations and your ongoing dedication to our work, ensure the American Cancer Society continues to Light the Way Through Hope.
