Sykes Lane Flood Defence Scheme On the morning of Saturday the 21st April a flood alert was issued for Saxilby, and we are pleased to say that the flood defence scheme put in on Sykes Lane has stood up well to its first real test. Two of our village wardens, the clerk and two of our councillors were out in the village offering what assistance they could but in order to be able to direct our resources appropriately we ask that anyone who witnesses any flooding or potential flooding contacts the parish office on 01522 703912 - an emergency contact number will be given if you call outside of office hours

The Queens Diamond Jubilee is fast approaching, and we are hosting a day of celebrations at the memorial field on Monday 4th June Schedule 12PM - Cricket vs. Football Exhibition game 4PM - Community Picnic 6PM to 10PM - Live Outdoor Music 10PM - Bonfire Beacon Lighting

The Pavilion Bar is also hosting a Beer Festival over the Jubilee weekend. From Friday the 1st June to Tuesday 5th there will be a variety of beers from local award winning brewery Grafters available.

We expect a lot of people to come to the village to line the route and I am asking if anybody who has trees or hedges that overhang footpaths on the route to arrange to have them cut back and tidied for the Torch relay.
