Threave Gardens is an inspirational place to visit at any time of year, but late summer and early autumn is harvest time and the estate provides a rich harvest of delicious fruit and vegetables. On selected days during Flavour Fortnight you can enjoy a special menu of locally produced meat alongside Threave Garden’s home grown produce, which is likely to include potatoes, cabbage, kale, carrots, broccoli, onions, lettuce and herbs. Threave Garden’s cafe is open from 10am-5pm daily, but the Home Grown at Threave menu will focus around their lunchtime meals, running from 12pm-2pm.

Blackwater is demonstrating the versatility of haggis with a menu of exciting and innovative dishes. Blackwater are using nothing but the best, Dalbeattie Fine Foods’ Champion Haggis, winners of the Scottish Haggis Champion 2007-2008, and vegetarian haggis will also be available. This specially created menu will showcase Scotland’s iconic national dish in delicious and surprising ways.

Street Lights in Castle Douglas is opening on four evenings during Flavour Fortnight, giving you a rare chance to enjoy their relaxed ambience and delicious food well into the evening. The Street Lights team will be creating a special menu especially for these evening dining events, taking some of the finest local ingredients to create a three course evening eating experience that will delight your senses.
