About Me
Hello, I am Sasha - cultural project manager and art consultant based in Spain and Italy. Recently, I’ve obtained a PhD in art management, concluding my research on audience development strategies for the art fairs. This academic journey helped me to get in contact with numerous art galleries, art fairs and collectors. However, my involvement in the artworld is way longer: since 2014 I have been collaborating with various cultural projects and exhibitions, including Venice Biennale (National Pavilions and Collateral events), art fair Art Marbella, and art gallery in Milan.
My story with the Basque Country began in 2013, when I came to Bilbao for my master’s studies. I returned in 2020 for my PhD and eventually settled in San Sebastián excited to explore and share the region’s unique art scene.

The Guggenheim Museum is, without doubt, one of Bilbao’s most iconic landmarks. Every year, it attracts millions of visitors drawn by Frank Gehry’s futuristic design, but also by the city’s elegant urban landscape, signature bridges by architects like Calatrava, and open-air sculptures that have transformed Bilbao into a global reference for urban regeneration.
Did you know that before the Guggenheim, Bilbao was a grey, industrial city with almost no tourism? On this tour, we’ll explore the phenomenon known as the “Guggenheim Effect,” discussing how the museum changed the city forever.
We'll walk around the museum's exterior to explore major public artworks, uncover what the artists "really meant," and, if you wish, continue with a visit inside to see the permanent collection and current exhibitions (like Helen Frankenthaler or Refik Anadol). As an art advisor and cultural professional, I’ll share both insider knowledge and behind-the-scenes context of the art world.
