CONCEPT Creating form that gives opportunity to evolve according to upcoming needs

PROJECT DESCRIPTION when studying the residential houses in cherkos , which most of them are kebele houses its visible that they have evolved and changed through time. The need for more sleeping and cooking space or a house to rent are some of the reasons for these over time efficient expansions.this project serves as a basis for evolution,providing the neccessary spaces but leaving ample space for future inclosed open or semi shaded spaces.

INTERMEDIATING MASS PROGRAM Coffee shops,book shops,public sitting spaces,shops,boutiques,restaurant and temporary gallery space ,parking all integrated with the existing G+6 apartment building SITE

CONCEPT Eliminating massiveness of the existing building by introducing an intermediating mass PROJECT DESCRIPTION This is an extended part of the 66 apartment, one of the old buildings standing in piassa near tearoom.the relatively large massing of the building disturbs the sky line and has psychological effects on the neighbouring small houses.we proposed to add this intermediating mass that merges with the landscape and gradually continues to increase in height.active programms on the site are integrated in to the building making it serveas an active podium leading to atower of apartments.

CONCEPT creating an economically self supporting system from traditional ways of making cloth and artifacts in a new spatial organization PROJECT DESCRIPTION Activeness of the building is directly related to the chain of inerdpending programs whithin it.so i made the building one of the core circulation ponts in the urban spaceby letting the main circulation pathes intersect within it. By displaying traditional ways of making cloth and artifacts as a show we attract people into the building which inturn benefits the shops and restaurant.to creating an economically self supporting system by making the building a core circulation point and programs that draw people in.

CONCEPT simple exterior surprising interior to result in an exciting and active spaces PROJECT DESCRIPTION An envelope of alternating tansparent and translucent strips which also inclose the pedesterian walk create a sense of curiousity and interest to know what is inside,a way of showing off the capacity of the interior designers architects Ie clients. The space defining intrusions and extrusions serve as model displaying spaces,lighting and ventilation mechanismsand also openings.

CONCEPT easily buildable temporary bamboo shelter that takes the refugees way of living in to consideration

PROJECT DESCRIPTION Simple to construct two bedroom bamboo shelter that has easy patterns to extend or reduce spaces. An openable panel can turn the closed kitchen into an open one that opens up into the vereendah and compound.

CONCEPT Experimenting on different building evelops and membranes

PROJECT DESCRIPTION Spaces in typical domestic ethiopian hoses like the salon,guaro,megnta bet and Dejaf are studied in detail at the design stage. Recycled materials like bamboo,brick and low cost ropes are combined to construct the first stage of experimental building membrane.
