“The past becomes a texture, an ambience to our present Paul Scott
An inherent interest in people and how they live has led me to travel widely, visiting countries through SE Asia, and living in Europe and Africa. I have had over 15 years experience in project management internationally, and developed my passion for creativity and design through ceramics. This process has influenced my designs to have a tactility and a natural aspect which I believe to be at the essence of the human condition. I am fascinated with the way in which people engage with the space around them and how they respond to textures, colours and light. Which I believe, is the key to succesful design. This, combined with an ethical and creative approach to repurposing or creating space, thoughtful use of materials and attention to detail, underpins my design philosophy.

Victorian Opera Offices concept and design development
Breathe The design for the new offices for the Victorian Opera are inspired by the vocal vibration of the soprano. The air flow, the rise and fall, movement and intensity f emitted from the organic soft tissue of the vocal chords are reflected in the softly textured, illuminated and organic forms of the interior walls. The offices while private, allow a sense of community th through their opaqueness. The domed green/staff room overlooking the performance space connects the inner workings of the opera and the essence of the artform itself.
