Create A range of packaging (stand alone and in sets) for Yankee candles, new range of aromatherapy jar candles, addressing and relieving ailments such as Depression, High blood pressure, Insomnia, and the spirit booster for overall well being. Alongside the above, Design and produce in store promotion in the form of posters, other designs may inckude candle labels, online promotion and proposed large scale promotion.
BOARD 1 / THE BRIEF.
A collection of aromatherapy spa candles that aim to help relieve and cure ailments such as Insomnia, depression, high blood pressure, and a fourth candle for a general energy boost. Each candle has been given quite a poetic name to fit in with Yankee Candles current traditions. The candle packaging for each fragrance is to be made twice, one to hold a small pillar candle, and one to hold tealights.

BOARD 2 / THE CONCEPT.
The design for the packaging is based upon landscapes. Landscapes can be very calming, and so there is a landscape associated with with each candle fragrance. A nightime sky for Silent Slumber, the insomnia candle, A sunrise for kindeled spirit to represent a boost in energy. A beach lanscape for Slow down, a candle to bring on lower blood pressure and a field of spring flowers to represent new begginings / starts and relieve depression. Also considered is the implementation of illustrative pieces which would be overlayed over the landscape type patterns seen above. This will help to also direct the candles towards the younger audience that Yankee candle have grown over the past couple of years.
BOARD 3 / THE DESIGN.
Production and Process
The landscapes which will be applied to each of the 8 boxes will be hand painted much like the style of impressionist painters Monet and Turner. Paintings and art are seen to be quite affluent commodities, they have an air of grace and decorum which, is representitive of a premium candle brand such as Yankee Candle. To further the more prime attitude that Yankee candle has, the overlayed illustrations will be foiled rather than digitalised. Metallic foils, again add an extra, exclusive touch whilst still appealing to the original and the younger audience.

Promotion for the range of aromatherapy candles comes in the form of instore posters, a web banner for online attention and bus shelter posters for an outside audience.
