The film 'The Fortune' released in 1975, is an American comedy based upon two hustlers, whom befriend a woman and eventually plan to steel her fortune. Although the film was released in 1975, the film is actually set in the raring, art deco fueled 1920's. This was the inspiration for the piece, the colour pallet transcends from 1920's fashion and decoration. The 1920's were also the root of inspiration for the type and line work, Art deco was a thriving movement in the 1920's and this was therefore emulated within the type work as well. The main illustration on the poster was created in reflection to one of the main moments in the film, in which the two lead males, attempt to kill the well off female lead for the first time, to inherit her money.
