Bureau of Engraving and Printing FW Located in Fort Worth, Texas, the Western Currency Facility (WCF) Public Tour and Visitor Center is a great place to learn about U.S. currency. Visitors can see billions of dollars printed from an enclosed walkway, which is suspended above the production floor! Two floors of interactive exhibits and displays showcasing currency history and the intricate art of currency manufacturing are available before or after the free self-guided tour. The tour includes a high-definition theater film, and the Moneyfactory Gift Shop.

The Emeritus College at the University of North Texas is an organization created to provide an extensive range of educational opportunities, travel programs and social activities for adults age 50+. Emeritus College currently has 475 members participating in over 140 classes, tours, clubs and events per year.

We will be attending: Two Anitas Present the Way to a Happy, Healthy Heart through Humor We will be presented with the benefits of humor in our everyday life, in sickness or in health. Included in this will be humor's effect on physical, psychological, and physiological well being. Come prepared; active participation will be required come to gain insights and be entertained! We will also be introduced to exercises of breathing, stretching, and laughing to strengthen core muscles. Laughter exercises provide the benefits of lower blood pressure, lower blood sugar levels, and increased endorphins which help with pain relief. These exercises can be completed while seated, but please wear comfortable clothing for deep breathing.

Community Education Classes Search & Sniff Workshop – Nosework

Does your dog keep it’s nose to the ground on walks or search out the lost cracker in the couch? ...... Then this class is for you! Nothing brings out pure enjoyment in your dog like using their biggest sense! In this 4-week class we teach your dog how to search on cue.

If you have a dog who doesn’t really play much – this is definitely something they will enjoy! Great for any dog, any age. (No aggressive dogs allowed).

Basic Manners Workshop This four-week class is a great workshop if you are just starting out with training, or looking to take things to the next level. We will focus on the basic commands: Sit, Stay, Coming when Called and Leash Walking as well as problem behaviors such as pulling on the leash and not jumping up. (No aggressive dogs allowed).

Puppy Kindergarten Workshop

This 4-week class covers all things puppy! In this class we work on all the early development skills your young puppy needs to grow up into a well-adjusted adult dog as well as introduce your puppy to all the basic commands. This is an investment in your puppy’s future!! Puppies 12 weeks to 8 months are encouraged to join.

Tea Parties with a Purpose

Come learn the skills to be a responsible babysitter. Young Rembrandts Preschool Drawing Ages 4–6 Young students are so eager to learn, and a joy to teach. Young Rembrandts instructors provide a nurturing and strong learning environment that expands Pre-schoolers’ image vocabulary as they draw familiar images. Dance Classes

Ballet and Tap – 3 to 5 years and 6 to 12 years Students will develop rhythm, poise and coordination while learning the fundamentals of ballet and tap. Pilates Sculpt

Transform your body. Pilates is one of the most effective ways to work the deepest layer of your abdominal muscles, flatten your stomach, tone your body and improve flexibility, while protecting your joints. This class combines the benefits of Pilates with upper body strength training.

Special Events Family Campout

Friday Night May Movies in the Park

Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23 It’s time to pack your family (or friends), tents and sleeping bags and head to Pilot Knoll Park for a family campout. The activities will include a tent decorating contest, s’mores, late night movie, and more! Fifty dollars per campsite (up to 4 campers, each additional camper $10). Price includes all activities, drinks, dinner and snack for breakfast. Space is limited, so sign up early! Registration deadline is March 17.

Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 12 • 10:00 a.m. at Unity Park Each year the City of Highland Village holds their annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Unity Park baseball/softball field facility located behind Briarhill Middle School. This event is free to the public and includes pictures with the Easter Bunny (please bring your own camera), face painting, fire engine, and a bounce house. The Hunt starts immediately at 10:00 a.m.

If Hunt is cancelled, due to rain, it will be held the following Saturday at Unity Park, April 19 at 10:00 a.m.

Highland Village Kids Kamp Highland Village Parks and Recreation Department has planned a summer for your children they will never forget. Join us in the mornings for organized games and activities and then stick around in the afternoon for field trips you won’t find offered by any other kamp out there! Field trips are taken 4 out of 5 days a week weather permitting. Each participant will receive a free T-shirt and additional T-shirts can be purchased for ten dollars each. Our kamps are scheduled weekly so you can customize your summer activities.

Celebrate Highland Village Celebrate the beginning of summer with our Celebrate Highland Village event on Saturday, June 7. The event will begin at Unity Park with a 1k/5k walk/run, a family fish out and our Arbor Day Proclamation and the giving away of Texas native Redbud trees. Then that evening head over to Pilot Knoll Park for music, food, drinks, kids activities and a spectacular fireworks display on the shores of Lake Lewisville. The location for the fireworks display provides optimal viewing of the show from many of our homes and neighborhoods in Highland Village.

This spring the Parks and Recreation Department will be offering adult softball and kickball leagues. The softball league will be an adult men as well as a co-ed league. Kickball will be an adult co-ed recreational league at Unity Park. Registration will be held from February 3 – February 21 for the spring leagues and games will start the week of March 9. The City of Highland Village and Neighborhood Sports is offering a Summer NBA Youth Basketball league for boys and girls from 1st to 9th grade.

Season: June 14 – July 26. End of season tournament is August 2.

Format: 1/2 grade play full court with 8 ft. hoop, 3-9 grade play full court with 10 ft. hoop Boys Basketball Divisions: 1/2 grade, 3/4 grade, 5/6 grade, 7/9 grade. Volunteer Head coaches child $115, Reg. Player $145.

Pickleball League coming this Spring!

Ladder League- The format is designed so that players mostly play others of similar skill level. The ranking is based on the winning percentage (ratio of points won to total points possible). Players will move up or down the ladder based upon their winning percentage. No partners needed.
