Simple small match boxes don't just hold matches; they can become beautiful and unique works of art. By stacking, reconfiguration and adornments, these small little boxes become transformed. You will be amazed by what can be produced with a little imagination. With lots of ideas and examples you will work on ornaments, wall hangings, welcome signs, holders for dinner gatherings and much more. Through stamping, painting, antique glazes, and collage', the boxes take on a new life. An array of adornments will be at your disposal; from feathers, photos, ribbons, stamps, lettering, buttons and beads. Come be creative and will let your imagination run wild! All materials included. If you have worked previously with tile and are ready to move to the next level, or you’re simply intrigued with working with glass and china on a project, then this is the class for you! Mosaics offer students a wide variety of materials and project choices from lamps, tables, shelves, frames to trays and Kathryn will present certain tricks and procedures that are unique to these materials. Materials, frames and trays will be provided. Feel free to bring in project pieces to cover, along with your favorite plates and glass pieces. Have you ever been captivated by the sight of a beautiful mosaic and wished that you could create a masterpiece of your very own? Then join this class! We start off creating a simple stepping stone using the direct method of mosaics, and then we will finish with an indirect method that creates a free-form shape using mirrors, glass and tile. All materials are included.
