CREEK STEWARDSHIP ACTIVITIES OURS TO PROTECT The Sonoma County Water Agency and City of Santa Rosa support individuals, businesses, neighbors, and community groups who volunteer as Creek Stewards to help keep local creeks clean and safe. Creek Stewards adopt a stretch of creek and help with restoration projects, pick up litter, and provide suggestions that add to the public's enjoyment of the trails, scenery, and wildlife. Organize your own creek cleanup! For help organizing a creek clean up with your neighborhood, school, community group, or business please call 707-543-3845 or email creeks@srcity.org. First Saturday Cleanup on Prince Memorial Greenway (ages 5 to adult) On the first Saturday of every month help take care of Santa Rosa Creek in the heart of downtown. The Greenway provides a home for river otter, kingfishers, steelhead trout as well as parks, public art, and recreation.Visit www.firstsaturdaycleanup.org for more information.

Colgan Creek Volunteer Days (ages 8 to adult) Help the community cleanup and nurture the restored reach of Colgan Creek. Learn about the many native California plants that grow along creeks and help them establish a foothold in their first years. Tools and refreshments provided.

Flat Rock Park Volunteer Days (ages 8 and up) Help take care of the Brush Creek Restoration Area and Flat Rock Park. Learn about native California riparian plants and how they provide food and shelter for fish and wildlife.

Laguna Stewardship Day for Families (all ages) Bring the kids! Join us in restoring critical wildlife habitat while enjoying the outdoors with your family. Tools, training & hearty snacks provided. Bring gloves and water.

Earth Day on the Greenway (ages 5 to adult) Celebrate Earth Day’s 48th birthday on the Prince Memorial Greenway. Help with a cleanup of Santa Rosa Creek, native plant care, and trail maintenance. Whitewater Rodeo on Santa Rosa Creek (ages 5 to adult) Build a toy boat and race it down the shallow rapids. Laughs and prizes, everyone is a winner! Wear shoes that can get wet (no sandals). Don’t have time to build a boat? Materials and assistance will be available that morning to craft your own vessel.
