A garage, barn, and stables were completely gutted and transformed into a bathroom, bedroom, studio, and open kitchen/living room/dining room. High insulative values were achieved with EPS insulation under the slab and blown cellulose in the roof and double-framed walls. Passive and active solar heating and a water-catchment cistern system contributed to fulfilling BGNM standards.
