IT TOOK OVER 8,000 FIREFIGHTERS – WHO CAME FROM OREGON TO NEW MEXICO AND PLACES IN BETWEEN – BUT IN AN EPIC BATTLE WITH ONE OF THE LARGEST WILDFIRES IN CALIFORNIA HISTORY, THIS ARMY OF PROFESSIONALS, WITH HELP FROM MILITARY DRONES FLYING OVERHEAD FROM PT. MUGU, USING SOPHISTICATED FLIR INFRARED EQUIPMENT TO PINPOINT FLAMES THROUGH THE DENSE SMOKE, ALONG WITH DOZENS OF BULLDOZERS AND EARTH MOVERS, NEARLY A THOUSAND FIRE TRUCKS, A FLEET OF HELICOPTERS, DC 10S, AND OTHER AIRCRAFT, THEY CONQUERED THE BLAZE.
