LUGGAGE FOR ELDERLY (Apoyo) To design a luggage for older people which can make their travelling easier

DESIGN BRIEF •There are smart luggage in market , but there are not luggage which is especially designed for old people . •This luggage will have a system which will helps to support body weight to reduce the load on the user’s leg while walking or using stairs and the luggage can also be used as sit on and it could also have a inbuilt tray in its handle , the luggage would be compact and not big in size ,when you need more space for this luggage can have compression and expansion system .

Problems faced by old people while travelling

Carrying heavy luggage

They lack the skill to use modern technology

Using stairs

declining night vision

Has to bend down to open luggage

Matching with public transport for eg . metro train shuts quickly so movement has to be fast to get into metro , same with locals

PIZZA CUTTER (Skarp) To design a pizza cutter which is ergonomically correct

WHY PIZZA CUTTER BUT NOT KNIFE FOR CUTTING PIZZA •The crust material and the toppings is bonded to itself with decent cohension .The bond between crust and toppings is at much lesser intensity •If knife is used the toppings would fall of the crust •If you use a pizza cutter there is a vertical force without the horizontal friction , so separation of layer is less

Existing pizza cutter

Ideal situation

Problems

What actually happens

Blade Grip There is basically no perfect grip on cuter , some groves are made on it but they don’t help to establish grip over the cuter , it is more like decorain over cutter

Pizza Pizza slice rotation of blade is not smooth . the point (centre of axis )because of which blade rotates is not stable balde doesn’t move in one direction -grip is not strong is not smooth

cutter direction There is no stability - it usually doesn’t move in same direction , it usually slips from the hand , the pieces which are divided are nt equal

S O L U T I O N

2 Two blade cutter

It would cut the pizza in half the time , It would also ensure a straight cut

P R O B L E M S

•When you carry the bag in side style the pressure is more as compare to sling style •But after a point both have some kind of pressure on shoulder •It hampers the movement Sling style

Lock cannot be seen- as it is under the flap

While opening bag there is pressure on thigh

ont style - • Lot of essure is put on back

Stablizer strap This position is usually used when you are carrying other bag on shoulder while walking

Sling style

Waist style

With the help of hook it can be connected , different copartments are created on strap for this

Backside of bag will be flat - so it is easy to carry and move

Hook •Bag hampers the movement while clicking pictures •It is not convenient for the user to perform other task along with this bag
