EDITOR’S PICK WINE COUNTRY WOMAN > SHANNON HARBERT

Lodi Winegrape Commission / Lodi Wine and Visitor Center, 2545 W. Turner Rd. Lodi, (209) 367-4727, www.lodiwine.com

Originally known for winegrape growing, Lodi has evolved in the past twenty years to making its own unique wines, and has established Lodi Wine Country as a destination. As marketing coordinator, Shannon Harbert represents the Lodi Winegrape Commission in getting the word out about our fabulous wine region—close to 80 wineries and over 750 winegrape growers. “It’s a great time to be a part of Lodi Wine Country,” says Harbert. “Not only are we producing awardwinning wines, but we also offer a unique wine tasting experience. When you come to our tasting rooms, you’re most likely going to have the winemaker or owner pouring for you.” Harbert and the Commission promote Lodi through annual events like Wine and Chocolate Weekend and Zinfest; social media like the new Lodi Wine Country iPhone app; and a new ad campaign to be kicked off at the end of the summer. Shannon’s Picks Lodi’s Downtown Farmers Market, Thursday nights. Best peaches and heirloom tomatoes ever! Bread Pudding at The Dancing Fox, Lodi. One word... scrumtrulescent! Cheese Central, Lodi. Wine & cheese party anyone? www.sanjoaquinmagazine.com
