MERCEDES-BENZ KOREA ALLIANCE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT

IDENTITY PROGRAM PRODUCT INCUBATION PROMOTIONAL EVENTS

TOP & BOTTOM RIGHT VISUAL DISPLAY PROMOTIONAL PRODUCT

GOALS: Effort re-position the vehicle brand in order to clearly

differentiate itself from other foreign car makers as the market became excessively competitive. It reckoned on changes in customer segments with new products: segments like SLK-class and B-class targeted relatively younger group. The company aimed to empower its brand image and establish a new relationship with the potential target group.

CHALLENGE: The challenge was to expand its market to younger

position as it maintained the Mercedes-Benz image of “luxurious” at the same time. The concept needed to stimulate the curiosity of potential customers without drawing, unwelcome attention from existing segments.

PROJECT V: Created and managed all aspects of the corporate

communications program ranging from brochures to a variety of print materials to promote two different segmentations. Communications aimed at the general public included: visual display, brochures, advertising, branded merchandise and a full range of collateral for Mercedess-Benz Korea’s high-profile events.

RESULTS: Project V found through research that there was an obvious

gap between the target group and Mercedes-Benz Korea’s position. We aimed to close this gap by drawing upon their culture and icons. Working with Lynn modern fine artists, Project V clearly delivered new images of creativity and modernity. The program demonstrated corporate citizenship by supporting young professional artists.

professionals and students in a dialog about the theme of ‘easy arts’. The overarching theme explored the following question: How can an artist effectively communicate with the viewer? When is creative work best shoved under one’s bed, and when should one choose to exhibit? What is the purpose of making art available for public viewing? What does the viewer bring to an exhibition context, and how can a safe space be created for artists to be vulnerable and expose their work and for viewers to respond?

PROJECT V: Coordinated the mentoring program in cities across

South Korea; provided curriculum materials on the theme of ‘easy arts’ to all mentor/mentee teams; developed editorial content for ONE PIECE Magazine on the theme of ‘easy arts’; designed/produced the magazine; designed/produced the exhibit; helped coordinate public relations efforts with the corporation.

RESULTS: Well known artists from four of the countries leading design

studios were engaged to collaborate with aspiring artists. Eight hundred copies of the publication in collaboration with ONE PIECE Magazine were distributed to the creative community in summer 2009.
