An hour-long concert by the fearless ensemble that “appears to glide seamlessly and cohesively across the most challenging parts of the each piece they play, cutting and dancing across the music like skilled surfers across the waves.”

10am | SusiQ Senior Center Festival Artists in Concert It’s up to the Festival artists themselves to decide who and what will be featured in this program – it could be a Festival jam or it could be a sneak peek at works to be performed later in the weekend. Either way, it’ll be a special moment!

8pm | Laguna Playhouse The Genius of Edgar Meyer Composer-preformer Edgar Meyer owns the double bass like nobody else. For this solo recital he will play selections from the Bach Unaccompanied Cello Suites (which he has arranged and recorded for the double bass), and works chosen from among his own phenomenal breadth in classical, jazz, bluegrass and roots music composition. Concert sponsor: Lynda Thomas.

Then, they are joined by bassist Edgar Meyer, cellist Eric Byers and violist Jonathan Moerschel in the magnificent Schubert “Trout” Quintet.

ting 8pm | Laguna Playhouse Joshua Bell, Edgar Meyer, Calder Quartet Edgar Meyer and the Calder Quartet join Joshua Bell and pianist Sam Haywood for a wide-ranging evening of the musical adventures that have made Joshua Bell a household name. Program includes Ravel, Gershwin and works by Edgar Meyer.

SUNDAY Feb 12 3pm | Laguna Playhouse Tenth Anniversary Concert Edgar Meyer, Calder Quartet, Calidore Quartet Festival alumni the Calder Quartet (LBMF ‘03) and Edgar Meyer (LBMF ‘05) collaborate with the Calidore Quartet in the Dvořák String Quintet and the gorgeous Mendelssohn Octet, in celebration of the Festival’s tenth anniversary.
