ARTS REVIVAL At a seaside estate in the fairy-tale hamlet of Siasconset, Massachusetts, architect Thomas Kligerman saw a small, forgotten outbuilding and thought: children’s art studio. “We left as much detail as possible, because we wanted a raw, work space vibe,” explains Kligerman of the original trusses that informed the renovation of the space. Collaborating with Mia Jung, Ike Kligerman Barkley’s director of interiors, he clad the walls in light-diffusing wide plank beadboard, installed a spattered concrete floor to embrace future spills, and painted the wooden doors in cheerful stripes of Benjamin Moore’s Calla Lily, Grenada Green and Lakeside Cabin—an aptly youthful nod to the tiny tenants holding court. ikekligermanbarkley.com
